Third's POV.
Wayne tapped his foot impatiently. He rested his head on his palm as he leisurely dismissed some demon girl who was trying to flirt with him. Ha, he thought, did you really think you can charm your way towards the throne? It amused him that a lowly lust demoness would even dare try to capture the throne with her lust charm. Did she not know he was more powerful than her, thus rendering her charm useless? Also, she was not Darci, and she could never compare.Call Wayne obsessive or a stalker, but he was very much in love with Darci through out his younger days. And all thanks to his mother. Some saw the previous King as a strong, powerful, and loyal man. Some saw the previous King as a ruthless, dangerous warrior. Some saw the previous King as a loving, doting father. But the one thing that the King could never do was defy his wife. She was cold and heartless to those who dare harm her children, and gentle and kind to those she cared for. So when she insisted that all her children should attend human schools for primary school, the previous King didn't dare defy.
" I want my children to grow up as normal children before one of them have to become king," the Queen had explained to the previous King, " and I won't let anyone take a childhood away from them, not even you dear."
And with that said, she had temporarily sealed their powers and had them sent to the human world to have a so called 'childhood'. Of course, she made sure no hunters couldn't detect them and even dare hurt them. She had personally taken care of any assassins in the demon world who had tried to kill her precious little boys." Thank you mother," Wayne whispered, smiling at the thought of his headstrong, yet kind mother. And so, the seven brothers went to human schools, Wayne and Eric at five years old going to kinder, Prynce in prep, Gale and Stephen both in Year 3 while his two oldest brothers Greyson and Luka went to Year 5. Once Wayne had finished Year 4, which was when he had been ten, they all had to return to the demon world.
The rule was that every prince or son, had to complete a test when they were ten, and once every son had completed the test, the next Ruler would be decided depending on the ranking on their score. Once Wayne was ten, and had miraculously completed the test with full marks ( something no demon has accomplished) he had to sadly go back home, meaning he couldn't see Darci. He had managed to convince his father to stay for a year longer, but after that, he had to leave.
After Wayne had to leave the Human world and return to the Demon world, he found out that Luka had accidentally truly made them married. At first, Wayne was livid that his brother would force upon such a sacred binding onto him, but when he thought of it, Wayne was actually rather pleased.
For the five to six years that he had spent with Darci, he had truly fell in love with her. Hell, what a corny, cheesy thing to say but it was more or less true. That stubborn, sarcastic side to her, he missed it once he started training to be king and every demon had tried to sweet talk their way to the throne. If it was Darci, she would've punched anyone who dared piss her off. At that thought, Wayne chuckled at the memory of Darci glaring viciously at a primary school teacher, who didn't stop the bullying that was occurring to Wayne.
He had kept on tabs with her even though he was busy becoming King, and he truly felt sorry for when her parents were killed by an envy demon. He had personally tortured the poor demon as he had found out that Darci had to become a hunter to support her family. He had been angry, frustrated, malicious and he had felt the Wrath side of him begin to take over as he realised that this demon had practically forced Darci into being something that would put her in danger. The sight of the demon after Wayne's wrath was not pretty.
