Spark #02: English vs Japanese Versions of Anime
Annyeonghaseyo/Konnichiwa! How's life? Mostly terrible for the school-going readers amirite? I know, I know, homework and teachers can be annoying as fuck sometimes. But hey, at least you don't have a teacher whose going to convince you to write your Polytechnic(instead of high school we have that in Singapore)early admission draft thingy. I was just telling myself: No, I'm not gonna participate and here she comes in like goddamn Levi kicking a tooth outta Eren's mouth(should I say another tooth?).
Anyway, this topic is gonna be on english and japanese voice actors/seiyuus as well as the name of the anime. Lame, I know. But hold your pitchforks because I already have enough shit to deal with, alright?
Because fyi, I'm typing all this while 100% aware of the fact that I have a shit fucking ton of Physics honework to finish, all within a mere few hours. I wonder if I'm in high school sometimes, until I remember that here in Singapore, we have no high school, only university and college/polytechnic...
Now on to my main point. I prefer the original Japanese voice-acting with English subtitles more. Maybe it's because I used to watch Running Man(S.Korean variety show by SBS, go check out ep 277, the Zombie Virus)with English subtitles, or perhaps I'm just used to subtitles on the bottom of the screen(hey, videogames have them too, so shut up). On the other hand, I just feel like my mind is telling me: Anime is created by the Japanese, so it's only fair to watch them with the OG(original you dummy)Japanese voice while using English subtitles.
Perhaps it's just my personal taste, but I can't stand English dubs in Japanese anime, as the accents just seem so... Out of place with the setting of some anime. For example, Tokyo Ghoul(which already has a Japanese setting if you somehow didn't know that), with its use of the dub, just doesn't make anime so 'anime' anymore, it becomes an English cartoon with a Tokyo setting.
Go ahead and discuss in the comments what you think, but please, NO FLAMES. Go and argue elsewhere, not here.
For the naming of an anime, I'll prefer whichever I am more familiar with, such as Shingeki no Kyojin/Bahamut(yes there is such an anime called Shingeki no Bahamut), and Tokyo Ghoul. I know Tokyo Ghoul's Japanese name but somehow... I just don't get used to calling it 'Toukyou Kushu'. Or SnK 'Attack on Titan'(fanfiction.net begs to differ though).
In a sense, it's like calling an idol what you are personally more familiar with. Take this as an example okay? In K-POP, the use of stage names is quite common. For example, one of my idols' real name is Myungsoo(Infinite, forgot the surname because I just have no interest in K-POP anymore), but his stage name, which I am more familiar with, is L.
I'll give you a simulation and you tell me your thoughts, alright? Don't bash. Just. Don't. Bash. Or I will find you, and I'll Tokyo Ghoul your salty arse.
Right. So we are all familiar with One Direction, yes? If not... Google them, it doesn't take more than a minute to run a Google internet connection test(wow Azura really got into my head...) So let's take Niall Horan. If he suddenly changed the name he uses in public(like say, on stage)to something else(not gonna create a random stage name and risk being killed), will you still call him Niall? Or will you use his 'new stage name'?
Tell me your opinions in the comments section below and I'll see you with something else soon.

P. S. I have officially, officially, gotten the plot for a Ghost!Rin Matsuoka x Ghoul!Reader x Ghoul!Imayoshi Shouichi down, and yes, Ghost!Rin is an original AU of mine that has nothing to do with those cliché ghosts you see on screen. No, I'm talking powers here. And yes, to those who know, I'm crossover-ing Kuroko no Basuke and Free! Iwatobi Swim Club, set in a Tokyo Ghoul x (original)Ghost AU, so let me know what you think. Should I go ahead and publish it?
How would you like to see the chapters? In an irregular update where I update the chapter immediately after finishing it, uploading everything on the same day, or finishing the story first before uploading the chapters daily?
P. P.S. We might be in trouble thanks to... Pirate hunters. I'll reveal my opinion about Japan's new measure against these pirates. See you soon~
