Ch. 7

I groan when I hear the screech of my alarm clock the next morning. Cold Monday mornings are the worst. A 'good morning beautiful. -H.' message brought my mood up considerably though. Before I sat up completely I hear a knock on my door. I put my glasses on and grumble a low 'come in.'

"Hey." My mom enters. How does she look so beautiful this early? In her hands are two coffee cups with steam coming off the top of each.

"Hi." I stretch my arms out and yawn.

She sits on the bed and hands me a cup.

"So. How was your run last night?" She asked. Her tone and the glint in her eyes indicated she knew I had done something other than run.

"Well I ran into Harry.." I smile then take a sip of the hot chocolate in the mug.

"And?" She raises her eyebrows.

"He's so! We just.. Okay we-" I get interrupted, as I has til fumbled over my words.

"Honey slow down." My mom chuckled.

"Okay. Well he explained why she was with him yesterday at the mall." I launch into the story that takes half an hour to tell.

"So then he asked me to be his girlfriend." I pause and look at my mom. "I said.. Yes."

"And now?"

"I like him a whole lot but I feel like I'm rushing." I sigh. It's too early for critical thinking.

"You just got out of a relationship with Mason." My mom looks at me. My eyes dart to the clock. This fool came in an hour before need be. Ugh. I would have definitely hit that snooze button.

"I know but Harry is so.."

"I understand. Believe me." She smiles and takes another drink.

" I need to slow things down don't I? Take a step back, think?" I question. It's seriously too early.

"Yes. I wouldn't break up with him. Just explain. Didn't he just get out of a relationship too? You two barely know each other. He already asked so don't take it back but if you two don't slow down it could cause problems in the future. I love you and I want what is best, I'll give you advice but I can't keep you from making your own mistakes. You're the only one who can live your life. Now get ready you lazy bum!" Why is she so perfect? We've never gotten in one fight. Never. Not even once.

"I love you too mom. You mean the world to me, and you get ready too, Dr. Ross!" I laugh and throw a pillow at her.

"Okay. Lucille." She smiles and takes our now empty glasses.

"Lucy! I love what you're wearing!" Some girl, Hayley, I think, told me. A kiss ass is what she was. I didn't even look cute. I was cold and lazy this morning. I threw on my tribal print tights, my big black sweater, and grey uggs. My hair was a mess on top of my head. My makeup consisted if mascara and lip gloss. Cute my ass. At least it was almost lunch. Then three more classes after that? This was going to be a long day, long semester really. I just want to see Harry.

I walk into class and set my books on a desk in the middle of the room, I was first in the class. I begin to take out pencils and flip to a clean sheet of paper in my notebook when I look up to see, my boyfriend.

"Harry." I nearly choke. He's wearing a long sleeve black polo, grey sweat pants, Nikes and a hat flipped backward with a few stray hairs darting out. He looks so cute. He looks sleepy, and cuddley. While I was not discreetly ogling my own boyfriend a few other kids filed into the classroom.
