Dan and Phil at Hogwarts (A Dan and Phil AU)

             It was beautiful. There was sparkling white, gold and bronze everywhere. Dan slipped Susan into his pocket for safekeeping as we approached the giant wooden doors. People were milling about, coming and going, but it was earlier in the day so it wasn't too full. We slipped past the archway and through the giant wooden doors into the gigantic interior. The ride at Universal didn't give any of it justice. The marble floors and the chandeliers and the...it was all incredible. As we walked inside, I wondered what we should do and looking around at all the high podiums, I thought, "How will the goblins hear us if they're so high up?" One of them peered down over us as we passed near their booth. I was in my own little world of thoughts again when I realized I had lost Dan. Twirling around, I frantically searched for him, beginning to panic (now I realize that we both had out phones, but at the time we were in a semi-crowded place with minimal spacial awareness and I got nervous.) until I crashed into someone going the opposite way. I could practically hear Dan's sarcastic clap and tone. "Well done, Phil. Five minutes into our first encounter with magical buildings and you manage to almost break a girl's nose." We both shrieked and I started apologizing immediately. She nervously pulled at the purple tips of her curly brown hair and began rambling as well, until she looked at me. Her brown eyes lit up as she saw my face and she immediately covered her mouth and screamed quietly (if that's possible). I couldn't help but smile as she straightened her Pikachu hat (amazing, by the way) and jumped up and down a few times. She then attempted to compose herself and took a deep breath. "I'm so sorry Phil! I'm Alison, huge huge fan, you're such an inspiration-" I stopped her and hugged her. She seemed to relax and I smiled. "You're fine, don't worry about it. It's good to meet you, Alison! I like your hat. I was just looking for Dan and wasn't paying attention- again." She chuckled. "I know how we can find him." I raised an eyebrow. "Oh?" A hint of mischief glinted in her eyes. She cupped her hands around her mouth and began singing. "SomeBODY ONCE TOLD ME-" A few seconds later, Dan split through the crowd. "THE WORLD IS GONNA ROLL ME-" I gave an exasperated sigh as he high-fived Alison (who was quite collected even though her eyes were flaming with excitement) and then turned to me. "You bloody meme you." I remarked. He was about to interject when I gestured to Alison, who was hurriedly fixing her hat again. "Dan, this is Alison. Big fan, cool style of hats, and also a fellow magician, apparently." She nodded quickly. "3rd year. Hufflepuff. You guys are going to Hogwarts too?!" I nodded. "Hufflepuff's a very noble house." "That's Gryffindor, Phil." "Yeah, but Puff's are the ones that have all the traits of the other houses but just don't value it as their dominant trait." "Yeah," Alison added, sounding like one of Myrtle's friends from Lilo and Stitch. Dan chuckled. "Alright then, you got me there. Now, Alison, you don't happen to know how to work these very funny tills do you?" She laughed. "What?" "Nothing, it's just... of course I do, but they're not tills, Dan, you just go up to them and access your vault." Alison said, walking forward and gesturing for us to follow. "But in your case, I'm guessing you need to exchange muggle money, don't you? That'll be the smaller booth there in the corner. Follow me." We tailed after her, making sure not to lose each other again and arrived at the small podium, shrunken by the size of the enormous ones around us. "Pounds or dollars?" The goblin asked without looking up. "Oh. Uh, pounds, please," Dan said hesitantly. He handed over a handful of bills and the goblin shifted a pile of coins toward him. "Thank you much, enjoy your day in Diagon Alley, next please!" He said in a monotone voice. Dan and I exchanged glances as he shuffled the coins into the pocket of his coat and we hustled away, following Alison out of the bank. She stopped on the top step. "Okay, let me show you. Hand me a few coins." Dan did and she held three of them up of various sizes. "This big one is a Galleon. It's worth the most. The silver one is a Sickle. And the bronze one is a Knut. Gringotts now does E-banking and you can set it up online, once you're at school." Dan's eyes lit up. "So they do have wifi now?" She giggled. "Of course. What with the 21st century coming about, they had to make some upgrades. No phones allowed in class, but they have wifi and the devices don't go haywire unless you go into certain areas, usually underground tunnels." I nodded. "Wow. You've been so helpful, thank you, Alison!" She smiled. "You can call me Ali, if you want. It was an honor to meet you guys, I'm so happy I got to- I really hope you're in Hufflepuff Phil, you'd love the common room! It's so cozy and warm, and the 7th years leave stuffed badgers that say encouraging things around when they leave, its adorable. Oh, I'm so excited for you guys!" I couldn't help but grin at her enthusiasm until I looked at the frown on Dan's face. Ali must've noticed it too, because she responded with, "Don't worry Dan, you won't be separated. Even if you're not sorted into the same house, you'll still take classes together, have meals in the Great Hall and do a bunch of activities. Slytherins tend to get along well with Hufflepuffs, surprisingly." "Slytherin? I'm a Gryffindor, thank you very much," Dan remarked, seeming a bit more at ease. "Well, I guess we'll see," I said, turning back to her. "I hope we'll see you real soon." She nodded. "Let me give you my number, so you can reach me, y'know, incase you need to." I handed her my phone and she added herself as a contact. "Thank you again." Dan said, finally giving a smile. "No problem. I'll see you guys in school!" "Can't wait!" I said, waving back as she jogged off. "She was nice. What now?" I asked Dan, who was holding one of the coins up to the light. "More shopping!"
