Ryan's POV

As noon rolled around Derek and I, with the help of our dad, loaded the equipment back into the car.

"Hey Ryan!" I turned around and looked in the direction that I heard my name being called. I saw my small group of friends walking toward me.

"Wanna come get lunch with us?" Saydi asked. She was average height and had long brown hair with brown eyes. She was the youngest of our five person group, being only 20. She was the only one who couldn't drink.

"We're thinking of checking out that new diner-like place down the street. You up for it?" Sam, Saydi's boyfriend, asked. Sam was one of two boys in our group. He was 6' tall with blonde hair and green eyes. He was one year older than Saydi, putting him at the lovely age of 21.

"Yea sure. Let me go tell my dad and brother and leave my stuff with them." I replied. I turned around and grabbed my backpack and longboard.

"I'm gonna go eat with my friends. We'll meet back here in an hour?" I said to Derek. He nodded his head and took my backpack and longboard from me. He reached out to grab my ukulele but I flinched back.

"Don't break it ok? Please be careful Derek." I said slowly handing him the instrument.

"You know I wouldn't do anything to hurt your precious ukulele." He replied. He rubbed my head for the second time today and hopped in the car.

"You coming or what!?" Alexis shouted. Alexis is short standing at about 5'3. She is one year younger than I, making her 23. She has short auburn hair with hazel eyes, but they're more green. I ran over the them and linked my arms with Alexis. We walked off down the street towards the diner.

"So how'd you guys do?" Jayden asked referencing the street performance. Jayden is Alexis boyfriend, I'm kinda the only single one in our group. Jayden is 5'7 with short blonde hair styled in a small quiff. He has green eyes and occasionally wears glasses. He was 22, one year younger than his girlfriend.

"We did pretty good actually. Made about $20 dollars each, which is surprising." I replied as we walked into the diner.

"Table for 5" Sam said to the restaurant hostess.

"Would you rather have a booth or table?" She asked us.

"Booth please" Saydi said. The hostess led us to a booth in the back of the restaurant.

"Someone will be here to take your order shortly." She said handing us our menus and walking away.

"Hi. I'm Carter, I'll be your waiter for today. Can I get you started on some drinks?" He said. We all went around the table and ordered our drinks.

"So Ryan. Guess who I heard is in town for a couple weeks." Sam said nudging me.

"Who?" I said taking a sip from my coca-cola.

"They're a band you're obsessed with."

"Panic! At The Disco?" I guessed.

"No. But this band has toured with them."

"Fall Out Boy?!"

"No. It's actually Twenty Øne Piløts"

"ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!?!" I whisper yelled.

"Not one bit. " Saydi said.

"That food was amazing!" Jayden said once we got outside.

"I agree!" Sam said. "I'm so stuffed man."

"So you gotta get back and sing some more don't you?" Alexis asked.

"Yea but we can hang out afterward!" I said as we made it back to the street corner from before.

"I'm gonna stick around. I like watching you guys perform." Saydi said. She gave Sam a quick kiss goodbye before following me, the others walking down a different street.

"Why does Derek look guilty?" Saydi asked as we neared my brother.

"I have no idea." I replied.

"Ryan I am so sorry! I didn't mean for it to happen it just kinda did. I'm so sorry! Please forgive me!!" Derek pleaded as he grabbed my hands and shook them.

"Derek I don't even know what happened." I said pulling my hands away from his.

"Um. Ryan?" Saydi said. I looked over to where she was and saw my ukulele was destroyed.

"DEREK WHAT DID YOU DO?!" I yelled at him.

"I tripped and it broke. I tried to not let it hit the ground but I couldn't. Please forgive me?"

"I'll have to think about it. We can't play anymore today. I'm gonna walk down to that music store not too far from here and see if they sell ukuleles" I said running my hand through my hair.

"Ok. Keep the receipt. I'll pay you back what ever you spent on it." Derek said.

"I'll go with you Ry." Saydi said. We quickly made our way to the music store.

"I'll be next door if you need anything." Saydi said walking into the clothing store that was right next to the music store. I walked in and was immediately greeted by a male worker.

"Welcome. Do you need help find anything?" He asked. His name tag read Dale

"Um yeah. Do you guys sell ukuleles?" I asked nervously.

"Right back there." Dale said pointing towards one of the back corners. I made my way over and made it a mission to avoid the person already back there.

Or so I thought.
