Volcanic Spelunking

It was nearly midnight. The tired archaeologist rubbed his weary eyes and glanced at his watch. He had spent the past few hours researching the legends about the Mirabilia Faba, and had everything from ancient records to old nautical and geographic maps of the island and the surrounding area. It had taken an extensive amount of work, but he believed he had finally located the entrance to the temple.

Hawaii is well known for its lava tubes, which are formed by volcanic eruptions. Indy had compared different charts and maps, and had discovered a bay that seemed to be the most likely place for an entrance to the volcano's heart. There were numerous lava tubes in the area, and many of them were large enough for a man to walk in, but hadn't been explored yet.

Dr. Jones decided to set out early in the morning. He got up at 6:30, and by 7:00 he was on his way to find the temple, stopping only to rent a small boat. When he arrived at the bay, he immediately sensed that something wasn't right. As he scanned the cliff wall in front of him, he noticed a rope hanging from one of the lava tubes. A speedboat was anchored just below it. Indy cut his motor and drifted closer. Anchoring his craft beside the other, he grabbed hold of the rope and began to climb...
