Girl Meets "My Stronger Connection"

"Riley?" Maya called out into the empty neighborhood street.

"Riley, please. Don't be mad or upset that I stopped you, please just come here."

After approximately six seconds passed, Riley spoke out.

"I'm right here." She mumbled into her knees, loud enough for Maya to hear.

Riley sat on the curb, upset with all that had just happened. She really couldn't blame Maya though, she was just trying to help the situation in a calm manner and all. But she just wished that none of this had ever even occurred.

Why did Missy have to ruin everything?

"Riles," Maya spoke out, sitting beside Riley.

"I didn't want any violence, really. I just wanted her to truthfully explain what the hell was happening, but that didn't happen, because she got all bitchy and upset, even though the event was all her doing. It's not your fault, Riles, none of this is. I wasn't exactly looking for someone yet, and she barged into my life and started hitting on me, and it was obvious that she wanted some sort of stronger relationship with me, and I grew sick of it and just let her become my girlfriend. But I wasn't ready to kiss her or do anything major with her because I wasn't even ready for anyone at all. But now, I've got you, and I know that I'm looking in the right direction this time. You're it, Riley. You're my stronger connection, if that makes sense."

Riley's heart fluttered at the last of Maya's words, and she turned to Maya and wrapped her arms around the blonde, hugging her and pulling her close. Riley's head was buried in Maya's shoulder, and her lips were ever so slightly touching Maya's neck, which made Maya shiver and bite her lip, getting flashbacks from a certain event that had happened before. But Maya push those thoughts away because it was not the time for that.

"Clean, Maya, clean thoughts." Maya told herself in her head.

The two girls reluctantly pulled away from one another. "My house?" Riley asked Maya, already knowing the answer. "Of course." Maya said, her lips curving into a small, light smile.

The two girls got off the curb and went back to Riley's house, hand in hand.
