Sans slouched lazily on the living room couch, listening to Papyrus clashing and clanging the pots and pans in the kitchen. The familiar aroma of spaghetti filled the air, as well as the pungent smell of Sans' sock on the living room floor. It was one of those days to just relax, and Sans had absolutely no problem with doing just that. There was just one thing lingering at the back of his mind.
Chara.
Sans wondered on how they were going to strike next. He hoped that it was something that he could deal with, and he prayed that Frisk wouldn't get injured again. Honestly, he knew that was going to be a long shot. The thing that he was most worried about though, was the chance of this entire timeline being reset, and he dreaded of the possibility. He wouldn't be able to bear it if Frisk was forced to reset the timeline all over again.
Papyrus walked into the living room and seemed to notice Sans' silence, so he decided to cheer him up.
"Hey, brother! Why don't you try some of my spectacular spaghetti? I've added some different herbs this time, so perhaps it'll taste even better than before! Although, I doubt that's possible. Nyeh heh heh!"
"Thanks bro. I'll give it a try." Sans replied, and moved from the couch to the dining table in the kitchen. Papyrus happily ran to grab a plate of spaghetti for both himself and his brother, and he placed them both on the table. He sat down opposite Sans and smiled at him, and Sans wearily smiled back at his brother. Sans took a small forkful of his brother's spaghetti, and he froze. Papyrus noticed this.
"Brother? Don't you like it?" Papyrus asked, unsettled. Sans looked up at him, with a big smile spreading across his face. Sans then proceeded to chow down his entire plate of spaghetti in mere seconds, whilst Papyrus watched in amazement.
"It tastes awesome, Paps. Well done." Sans smiled, and Papyrus 'Nyeh heh heh'ed with glee.Just then, there was a knock at the door. Papyrus stood up and rushed to the door to answer it, whilst Sans relaxed at the table.
"Oh! Hello Toriel, hi Frisk! Come in!" Papyrus exclaimed, and Sans tensed up. He hoped it wasn't bad news. He felt a tap on his shoulder, and he turned to face Frisk.
"Hey kiddo," he greeted, "how's things?" He asked.
"Good," Frisk replied, "nothing to report about Chara yet. Mum has said that you have told her about the resets, are you sure that you should of told her?"
"Yup. She and Asgore knew that Chara could do similar stuff to you anyways, kid. No worries." Sans stated. Frisk still looked worried.
"What's troubling you, kiddo?" Sans asked.
"Mum also knows about my plan. You told her, right?" Frisk asked, and Sans nodded. "Well, I can tell she's worried about me. She won't stop cuddling me, and talking to me about things like this. It's like I'm gonna die, or something." Frisk sighed.
"That's what motherly love is kid. You're lucky to have a mom and a dad to look after ya. Me and Pap had to live on our own. She should be aware that you've died and resetted before, so trust me kid, she will be fine." Sans confirmed. Frisk smiled happily, looking reassured.
"I suppose so. Let's watch some television!" They exclaimed, and Sans chuckled, nodding. They walked into the living room to find Papyrus and Toriel already sitting on the couch, with Papyrus watching television, and Toriel doing some knitting. Frisk plopped down onto the floor, as did Sans.
"Whatcha knitting, Tori?" Sans questioned, glancing at Toriel's work.
"Just a token of my gratitude." She smiled lovingly, and held up the almost completed blanket. It had a spaghetti pattern dotted all over it, with a purple background. Papyrus looked like he had stars in his eyes.
"Oh, wow! That's fantastic!" Papyrus exclaimed.
"Thank you, Papyrus. Frisk chose the pattern." Toriel responded, and carried on knitting.
"Is that for me?" Papyrus queried, and Toriel nodded happily. The taller skeleton squealed, whilst the shorter skeleton chuckled at his response.
"Actually, Sans, I have one for you too." Toriel said, and pulled a blanket out of a bag at the side of the sofa, that Sans previously didn't notice. The blanket was patterned with bottles of ketchup, with a baby blue background. Sans blushed joyfully as he took the blanket and wrapped it around himself. It felt so comforting and warm.
"Gee, thanks Tori." Said the shorter skeleton gratefully, and Papyrus waited impatiently for his blanket too. Once he received it, he wrapped it around himself like a cape, and flew around the room, pretending to be a superhero. Everyone laughed heartily, and they spent the rest of the day at the skelebros house.Sans was glad that he had a rather peaceful day that evening, and cuccooned himself in his newly knitted blanket. He had no thoughts about Chara, or resets, and he was grateful that he could finally have a day of peace.
He was almost asleep, when he received a text from Frisk.
