Pain. Anger. Frustration...
'That's all I can feel whilst I'm in this place.' he thought to himself. 'All because of that fucking kid...'.
He yet again gave the young child the final blow, inflaming their body with the intense heat with his deadly gaster blasters and watching them incinerate into thin air. He's done this so many times he's lost count. He's relived this moment again and again, and frankly, he was growing rather sick of it, to say the least. Still, he relished in taking that child's life again and again, making them pay for what they have done. Even if it wouldn't make a difference to the timeline he was currently in.

He sighed. He just wished he could start again, like the kid could. So he could see Papyrus' smiling face again. So he could live peacefully and live his life knowing that everything wouldn't just reset. He couldn't understand why the kid decided to do this. They all seemed so happy in the previous timeline. What caused them to reset?

He contemplated this whilst the kid was at the game over menu. He just couldn't understand it. In the last timeline, everyone seemed to be so happy. Frisk befriended pretty much every single monster that they could find in the Underground. Frisk saved everybody. With their help, the barrier was broken, and everyone was free.
'God... What would I give to see that sunrise again... To actually feel like nothing was going to go wrong...' Sans wished wistfully.

The room went dark.

And then the kid was there again, gripping their knife with determination, ready for another battle.
'They look different somehow...' The skeleton observed. And then he noticed it. What once was a beautiful pair of ocean blue eyes, is now a terrifying pair with the shade of blood red. And then Sans knew. This wasn't Frisk.

"Chara." He hissed. He was feeling pure hatred towards the murderous little shit.
"Why hello Sans," they cackled "did ya miss me?".
"Obviously, I've missed this little pipsqueak a ton. A skeleton." Sarcasm dripped in his words, and the child let out a low chuckle.
"Still spitting out those pathetic puns? Oh please," Chara glared at Sans "Just give up already you bag of bones. Let me kill you. Spare me of your awful puns, and let me get what I want."
The skeleton scoffed. "Well I think my jokes are pretty punny, and so does Frisk. What the fuck have you done to them, you little shit?"
Chara flashed a devious smile . "Oh my, how demanding! And Frisk willingly gave themselves to me so I can gain control over the Underworld and erase it, duh!"
"Bullshit."
Childish giggles filled the empty hall. "I'd never lie to my favourite skeleton, Sansy!" Sans cringed at the nickname whilst Chara traced the edge of the knife with her index finger, looking desperate for some action to occur soon. They gave Sans a horrifying smile, sending shivers down his spine. "Hmmm, how have the nightmares been Sansy? Have I dealt you enough pain and suffering in them, or shall I give you some more?" They growled.
"Oh, I could ask you the same question pipsqueak." Sans chuckled, and his left eyesocket became inflamed once again by blue, orange and purple flames. "Come on, let's dance." And with that, Sans quickly sent a flurry of bones in Chara's direction, which she dodged easily.
"Oh man Sansy, I know that's not the best you can do, give it your best shot!" Chara teased, and a half second later Sans had wrapped their body in a blanket of blue magic, and flung Chara's body into a large pillar on the other side of the room, before surrounding them with a group of gaster blasters. They fired, but when the blinding light from the blasts died down, Chara was nowhere to be seen.

Silent tension filled the room as Sans waited for the kid's attack. He waited. And waited. And waited.

After a while, sleep deprivation finally caught up on Sans as he waited in anticipation for Chara's next move. He felt his bones aching to rest, his thoughts demanding him to sleep. He knew this is what Chara wanted, so they could attack whilst he was vulnerable, but he was slowly beginning not to care anymore. It's not like he would ever see Pap again, he'd never be able to share puns with Toriel anymore, he'd never have another burger with a side of ketchup at Grillby's. It was pointless trying to fight if there's nothing to fight for.

And that's when Chara struck Sans with their knife, cackling and jumping around with glee as he collapsed onto his knee bones in defeat. Blood escaped from his rib bones as he clutched at Papyrus' scarf hidden underneath his fluffy blue hoodie. Tears slid down his face as he accepted his fate. He was ready to give up.

And with Papyrus in mind, he did, and slipped into the enveloping darkness of death.
