"...Chara?"
Chara froze in shock. They couldn't believe what they were seeing.
"Asriel? Why are you here?! And why are you with Sans?! Did you come to make fun of me?!" Chara growled. Flowey looked down unhappily, tears forming in his eyes.

"Actually, he's here to see you. He asked me to help him get into the cave, since he couldn't do it on his own. He cares a lot about you kid." Sans grumbled, keeping an eye on Chara.
"Frisk, thank you for trying for me. I'm sorry I'm such an ungrateful little brat." Flowey sighed. Frisk nodded at Flowey happily.
"Chara, I've wanted to see you too. That's why I'm on the surface. That's why I'm trying to be nice to people." Flowey started.
"Well, calling somebody 'Smiley Trash Bag' isn't a good start, flower." Sans muttered. Flowey rolled his eyes.
"Anyways, I missed you. I hated being alone down there. It's awful. After I realised how horrible it is being underground with nobody to talk to, I started thinking of you. Of mum and dad. Of being happy again. I needed to see you again, so I've been searching for you. And I've finally found you..." Flowey said, shaking slightly. Sans glanced at the flower with caution. Frisk looked at the scene presented before them unhappily. Chara was looking downwards, not revealing their facial expression. They opened their mouth to speak.

"I missed you more than mum and dad did. I missed you more than anybody else did. I didn't care if everyone else hated me, I wanted to do everything I could in order to get you back..." Chara cried quietly, tears gliding down their face.
"I know that the methods I used...they weren't the best way to see you again. I never meant to be the bad guy. I never wanted to truly hurt anybody..." Chara continued, "I just wanted my brother back...life isn't fair!" Chara cried even more. Frisk patted their back encouragingly, and Chara held out their arm shakily. Flowey looked at Sans, and the skeleton cautiously walked closer to Chara. Flowey detached himself from Sans' arm and moved onto Chara's. Chara pushed Frisk towards Sans.

"Thanks for bringing him to me. I just... I need to talk with him alone..." Chara sniffled. Flowey snuggled against Chara lovingly. Sans and Frisk nodded and walked out of the cave.

"Kid... You did good." Sans smiled weakly. Frisk hugged his arm happily.
"Well... What do you say we go home? Leave those two alone for a while." Sans said. Frisk nodded in agreement. The skeleton teleported them both to Toriel's kitchen, where she was waiting worryingly. Asgore was pacing back and forth, and smiled in relief when he saw the two. Toriel leaped up and ran towards them both.

"Oh my goodness! You're okay! I was so worried... Oh Frisk, do forgive me my child! I should have looked after you! And Sans, you've done things that nobody else would have. I'm so proud of you. I'm so sorry!" She cried, enveloping the two in a loving hug. Asgore smiled happily.
"Anybody up for tea?" He asked warmly. Everyone nodded gratefully.

"Thank you so much Sans. We owe you so much..." Toriel said to the skeleton, sipping at her tea. Sans chuckled.
"Well, if you want to do me a favour..." He started, taking a large gulp of his hot beverage.
"Yes, anything!" Toriel cried.
"Butterscotch and cinnamon pie, with a side of ketchup. Also, I wouldn't mind staying the night." Sans smiled. He looked exhausted, and Toriel could tell.
"Of course. I'll set up a blanket and some pillows in my sitting room. Is that alright?" She asked. Sans nodded, and she rushed off to prepare the living room. Sans texted Papyrus to reassure his safety, even though he knew his brother would be snoring happily in his race car bed. At least he wasn't worrying about Sans. Sans smiled happily. He felt a tap on his shoulder.

"Sup kiddo." Sans smiled, ruffling Frisk's hair. Frisk giggled and started pulling Sans over to the living room.
"I heard that you liked astronomy." Frisk stated. Sans chuckled.
"Yup. Very fascinating stuff." He replied. Frisk smiled and pulled Sans faster.
"Well, I've got a small surprise for you. It helps me fall asleep, so maybe it'll help you too." Frisk said. They pulled Sans into the living room, and Sans looked up at the ceiling in awe.

Holograms of stars and planets were scattered on the ceiling and on the walls, by Frisk's projector on the floor. Gentle music was playing in the background by Toriel's stereo, giving the room a sense of peace. Sans smiled and hugged Frisk tightly.
"Thanks kid. It's beautiful." He whispered. Frisk hugged back just as tightly, and pushed Sans towards the sofa. It had his ketchup blanket made by Toriel with some matching ketchup pillows. On the side table was a slice of butterscotch and cinnamon pie, with a small bottle of ketchup.
"Gee, you guys are too good to me..." Sans mumbled, "Thank your mum for me, kiddo." He smiled happily. Frisk bade him goodnight, and shut the door, leaving Sans in peace. He sat down on the sofa and quickly devoured his pie and ketchup, and laid down on the couch. He pulled his blanket over him and rested on his pillows, sighing in relief and happiness. He looked up at the stars and planets, and listened to the music. Tonight, he was going to have a peaceful nights sleep, with no interruptions.

And that's just what Sans did.
