Chapter 5.
After twenty minutes of non stop running, he and William stopped right outside a swirlin colourful hole.

"I was hoping for a exit door like the ones in the movie theater. Not a swirling portal." Eric sighed.

"Ready?" William asked.

"I've been ready the entire time I've been here." Eric told him.

"Kay. Grab my hand, and we'll jump on the count of three." William explained.

Eric grasped his older brother's hand as he started counting down, anxious. "Three...two...one!" He yelled before they both jump.

Eric and William felt being separated as they gave each other's hand a final squeeze before drifting apart.

Eric opened his eyes slowly and noticed that he was in the ICU. He saw a nurse with dark brown hair and eyes to match. He tried to speak but his voice was shaky, he made an unsuccesfull effort to sit up before leaving a groan.

As soon as the girl saw that he was awake, she immediately came over to him. "Welcome back, how do you feel, we almost lose you yesterday." She said.

"I a-am in pain." Eric replied pressing his head against the pillow.

"It's reasonable. Do you remember what happened?" She asked gently.

"I-I think so. There was a shooting." He replied before immediately thinking of his brother. "Billy! I gotta make sure he's alright!" He shouted as he tried to get up, before a searing pain went through his side, making him groan as he collapsed back onto the bed, his hands immediately going to his side as the nurse settled him back down.

"Shh. Relax. What's wrong?" She asked gently again.

"My brother. William. Is he alright?" He inquired.

"Yes. If you hadn't locked the door, the shooter could've gotten to him. You saved his life." She explained.

"Am I ok?" He asked.

"You'll have to let the doctor be the judge of that." She told him.

"Ok..." he trailed off before reading her name tag, and finished his sentence "Meredith."

She smiled just as the doctor came in. One more female, this one with light brown hair and brown eyes.
"Hello Eric, I'm Dr. Joanna. Let's see how your doing." She explained before starting to examine him.

After 20 minutes, she came to a conclusion. "Well, I see you're getting better so you can be moved out of here. You are going to stay for some days, however till I make sure, you're totally fine." She explained and stroke his hair.

"Thank you, Dr. Joanna." He smiled.

"Just call me Joanna." She giggled and that's when Eric realized she couldn't be much younger than him and possibly had a crush on him.

Meredith moved him to a room. Being still nervous about his brother, he got up, removing all the cables that were connected to him, except the IV and started walking to his brother's room. He was feeling fine for a few minutes before the pain in his side become agonizing as he fell to the ground, going into darkness. once again.

When he woke up, he heard a familiar voice saying "You know your a idiot, right?"

He looked up to see Billy smirking at him as he helped him up. Once again, Eric realized there was no pain in his side and he groaned. "We're back in that place between life or death, aren't we?"

"No. We're in a dream. Your dream, to be specific." William explained.

"So I can just think up anything, and it'll be here?" Eric asked.

"Yep. But for my sake, nothing absolutely crazy." William mocked.

"Ok..." the younger one trailed off as he imagined something.

When he opened his eyes, he saw his doctor in her office, sitting on the chair, checking some papers.

"Oh boy." The older boy face palmed as he watched Eric staring at her. "You know me. Angela is my soul mate. What about you, Mr. Single and ready to mingle?" William joked.

"Not funny, Billy." Eric told him before replying. "My doctor, Joanna is pretty cute, and around my age."

"You fell in love with your doctor? That's a new one." William smirked.

"Oh be quiet. And you haven't met her. She has these gleaming brown eyes and this magnificent light brown hair that you just wanna run your fingers through."

"And she is your doctor."

"Would you knock it off?"

"Sorry."

"So when am I gonna wake up?"

"Any minute now."

"How are doing in the real world?" Eric asked.

William gulped before saying. "I'm still in a coma."

"Sorry bro." Eric told him as he hugged him, with a VERY tight hug back. Instantly, everything faded and the younger one started feeling pain again."Owww." He moaned as he gripped it.

"You're returning back to the real world. We'll see each other soon. Promise." William told him.

Eric nodded before getting a gigantic burst of pain, making him pass out again. When he woke this time, he was back in his hospital room, with his mom in the room with him. "Hey baby." She said lovingly as she stroked his hair softly.

"How's Billy?" He asked immediately.

"He'll be alright. They've said that with the way his body has been reacting recently, he may wake up soon. How are you?" Karly explained.

"I am good. I'm happy for him." Eric remembered what Billy just promised, along with what he told him in the white room and he smiled as he thought to himself.
'You'll be awake soon, Billy...and we'll be a family again.'
