Purse your lips and give a high kick(Gaara or Sasuke) Chapter 10

Someone is prodding my face.

“Get up, Sasuke won’t wake up, and you’re carrying him.”

“…Alright.”

I lift him onto my back, and start walking.

Sakura and Kakashi get Haku and Zabuza.

“Couldn’t you bring them back to life?”

“Once the soul has left the body, there’s no point.  This was their time to die, or they wouldn’t have.”

“But…”

“They would be zombies that I would have to control.  Trust me, I’ve tried.”

“But you’re Death’s Mistress!”

“Yes, but I can’t reunite a soul with it’s body.  Souls only leave if it’s their time to die.”

“…”

“Even my authority ends somewhere, Naruto-san.”

We get to where we are going to bury them, and the boys start digging.

“What’s wrong with Sasuke?”

“He’s just sleeping, I promised him he could sleep for days if he wanted to.”

She goes and sits by the graves.

She starts talking about the Shinobi way of life.

“Zabuza, Haku, you are warriors of legendary skill, heroes, even.  Because being a hero has nothing to do with death, just what you accomplish beforehand.  I am glad to have met you, and carry your legacy with me, always.” I murmur softly to them.

I hear Sasuke sigh in my ear.

I turn away from them, and start walking.

I go to the beginning of the bridge, and sit down.

Watching the moon, I hear Yuki-hana running to me.

We’re leaving tomorrow.

Good, the air’s to wet here.

Cha.

I sit and wait for the next day to arrive.

When the others arrive, I stand and start walking with Yuki.

“Chishi!  You gotta say goodbye!”

“I gotta get away from this air, so does Yuki.”

“Goodbye, Chishi!” I hear Inari call.

I feel a small, homeless kitten walking around.

Go be the little boy’s friend.

Okay!

 I hear Inari gasp.

I press two of my fingers against my lips, then lift them up in the air.

“Take care of her, Inari!” I shout back.

I put my hand down.

I think you made that little boy very happy.

I’m glad that he’s happy, he’s had so much sadness.

Soon the others catch up to me, and Naruto starts talking about ramen.

Sasuke wakes up a little, and Sakura asks him on a date.

He stays awake long enough to destroy her world, then falls asleep.

“Well, they may be idiots, but they are amusing to watch.” I tell Kakashi.
