Chapter 16

"I forgot how nice romance is, I haven't been there for the longest time, I had second thoughts at the start I said to myself 'Hold on to your heart', Now I know the woman that you are, You're wonderful so far And it's more than I hoped for. I don't care what consequence it brings, I have been a fool for lesser things."

"2016?!"I all but shout, and people around us go silent and give me a strange look before returning to their dancing.

"Yes 2016, are you ok? You look pale."Xavier states looking at me with an expression of worry. I wouldn't expect Xavier to act this way, in my time he was a jerk.

"I have to go."I whisper before taking off in the direction I came from.

As I make my way through dancing couples I make it to a grand gateway with massive doors.

I walk up to the doors, ignoring the two guards guarding the entrance, and try to push the doors open. They're locked. Why are the doors locked?! I keep pushing at the doors, throwing my shoulder into it, but it doesn't budge. I glare at the guards that are giving me weird looks, and strut off to go find a different exit.

No exits, the only exit is the one people came in through, and it just happens to be locked. I'm beyond frustrated, and completely baffled. Why am I in 2016? What happened to make me come here?

I walk over to what I think is a bad, and sit down on a stool. I'm stuck here, might as well enjoy myself, am I right?

"What would you like?"The bar tender asks. He has light brown hair, and beautiful forest green eyes. He is around 6 feet tall, and has a muscular build. He looks to be around my age, so I decide to flirt him up, maybe get information out of him.

"Surprise me."I whisper seductively, and he pauses a moment before smirking lightly and running off to get me a drink.

He comes back and hands me a cocktail, which I gladly accept and down it quickly. The alcohol burns my throat, but I ignore it and ask for another drinks he happily brings me this drink, and stands in front of me.

"I'm Cameron, what's your name?"I ask, smiling up at him. He smiles back with pearly white teeth before responding.

"Cade."He says and winks. I resist the urge to role my eyes, and start my interrogation.

"Do you know Riley or Jessica very well?"I ask, and he nods.

"Jessica is my sister."He says and rolls his eyes. So he knows more about Riley's fiancé...hmmm well let's see what I can find out about her.

"I'm close to Riley, but I don't know much about Jessica."I say, hinting for him to tell me about her, and he takes the bait.

"They've been dating for years now, and they're in love...how can you not know Jessica?"He asks in a somewhat surprised manner, but I just huff and put on a sad face.

"Riley and I used to be close."I say and then I pause.

"Oh, well. It was kind of love at first sight for them. Jessica loves him so much, she won't stop talking about him. Riley treats her well, but I still think he should treat her better."Cade says. I roll my eyes.

"So you're the overprotective older brother then, I see."He smiles and nods.

"Do you want to go somewhere more private?"He asks after I down my third drink. I giggle and nod. He comes out from around the bar, and takes my hand dragging me to an empty hallway off of the ball room.

"I'll be gentle."He says. Wait what?! Is he gonna rape me? Oh gosh no this can't be happening. I'm too young, he doesn't deserve my virginity. He smiles baring white shiny fangs, and I panic. He's not gonna rape me, maybe, but he sure is gonna plunge those dagger things into my neck. I did not sign up for this.

"No, please don't bite me."I beg him, but he simply shakes his head in disapproval. Slowly inching his fangs closer to my neck, but that's when I realize something. Xavier is human, Riley is human. Jessica. Jessica's a vampire. Holy crap she's gonna turn him. Riley was born a half-vampire from legends I'd heard, but being only half vampire he didn't have fangs or need to drink blood but had hightened abilities. He is a full vampire in my time period, and this must be when he turned.

I push Cade away and sprint back into the ballroom as all chaos begins to ensue. People running around in panic everywhere. Jessica's head buried into Riley's neck on stage, and the doors locked, trapping people in and preventing anyone's escape. Vampires are everywhere now, turning many innocent humans into monsters. When Riley and strange closet man bit me I didn't turn because they didn't release the certain venom that causes the turning into a vampire, but these vampires in this room clearly are.

"Jessica, oh Jessica. She did good this day. It started the vampire uprising. Vampires over threw humans, and Riley's father became the leader. He was already a vampire, and was the oldest vampire of know history, but Riley's mother was a mere human. I brought you back to this memory so you can know part of your masters history a little more. So you can know part of my history as well."Closet man says, and I try to throw my fist at him and try to wiggle out of his firm grip on my shoulder, but my surrounding disappears around me, and suddenly I'm thrown back into the real world....
