Rejection
Betrayal
There is pain in a word
To scream
but never again to be heard
The silent tears
that fall like snow
The true pain
Only a few will know
The sip of desire
The cuts go deep
Scars that linger
Bitter yet sweet
The battle is over
The war is not
The mind is poisoned
The heart is locked
The lock shut tight
The key hidden away
Better not to feel anything
Than again to feel betrayal
The scars are hidden
But no shame is felt
The pain is under
The mask is above
I feel no shame
I give myself no shame
I feel shame only because
Others give me shame
Poison in their words
As they say my name
Never lose the light
That's in your eyes
Never give the key
To your heart
It only has to be earned by trust
But to trust is to risk death
For pain is like a mental death
An embodiment that traps
Your very soul
Stay loyal and embody trust
Don't be the person
That turns others to rust
See the scars and never give shame
See the scars and know the pain
They are scars from the battle
They are scars from the fight
The fact you see them
Means they won the battle
Won the fight
They have fought
With all of their might
But the war is not over
Don't get lost in the night
But the scars linger
Even if the cuts heal
The poison leaves
But the damage is real
Very few know true pain
When you wish for physical
Because the mental hurts so much
When you cry because you awake
Because for you your dreams
Are an escape from pain
But it never lasts long
Only a drop in a vast ocean
Have no shame in the scars
Because your stronger than most
Every breath is proof of that
Everyday you fight to live
Everyday a battle you fight
And you have won
Beaten the night
Remember your life
is the war you wage
These are the lessons
We learn in time
Learn in pain
But it's never in vain
Because like me you now
Know the real tears
And know true pain
