The Soldier's Song
The thousand blades dance over the battlefields silent song,
Fallen soldiers have been sealed in the darkness grip ever so long,
The cries are silenced with a hushed tone,
The king has forth fallen from his corrupted throne,
The crown is painted with tainted gold the weak are killed and the young sold,
What morality is this and what reality do you wish for,
Is not peace earned through justice, bloodshed, death, and war,
To wish for it freely is to mock the fallen take it for granted and it has no purpose,
The night is enchanted now hear our song ever still,
Listen to the bells and thunder then center your will,
The soldier falls by his brothers hand for the wars have never truly left this land,
The moon and the stars in the night enchant this tale,
The soldier's song is grim on the scale,
Shall the dragon raise his head to slay the knight,
The sword is forth raised and the serpent slain in spite,
Fire forges their iron will sharp as a blade yet never shaken even so still,
Remember the fallen this is the soldier's tale,
Remember his sacrifice like red blood runs stale,
The Purple Hearts that beat within their chest,
Remember freedom isn't free and lay him down to rest,
The brave soldier has fallen his job now complete for you are free,
He gave his very life for this on Midnights clear bell,
Remember the fallen those cut down by the blade,
Remember the fallen those cut down for your sake,
Remember them well for that's what freedom takes.
