"C'mon babes! " I yell from down the stairs. Akila was making lunch for us, as the girls are getting ready.
"They're never on time." I state. "Just like you!" Akila laughs.
"I'm always on time."
Akila had her curly hair out. I grab her scrunchie off the table, and put all of it in a big loose bun. "Thanks." She pecks me on the lips.
She puts my salad, with grilled chicken, raisins, apples, and cheese in my bag. And, put her chicken, with cheese in her bag.
"My mother is coming over today." Akila states, nervous.
"That's great!" I smile. She looks at me sadly. Akila, and her mom, Sophia don't have a great relationship. They haven't, since she was younger.

"No, because I don't need her to talk down on our relationship, and I don't want her to do something stupid." Last time her mom came to visit, she gave us an entire speech about how a traditional marriage should go. And, that we needed to have a traditional marriage.
We got married four years ago, when the same sex marriage was approved. We were together for 10 years, before our wedding.

Akila haven't talked to her mom since then. She'll talk to her dad, Haku anytime. He's a boxer also.
"Well, is Haku coming too?" I ask.
"I hope so..." She trails off. I kiss her once more, and sit down, and started eating. "You know he's definitely coming." With that reassurment, she smiles.

"Good morning class. I want to hear what you know about the Greek Gods. So, can anyone answer these questions?" I announce.

"This is bull shit!" Tykeil yells. He just did that to disturb the class. And, all the kids started laughing.
"Boy!" I yell. They all shut up. "Let's start." I sit on my desk, facing them.
"Does anyone know who the king of the Gods are?"
No one had their hand up.
"Really?" I ask, waiting another second.
"Zeus." Sarah, a quiet girl in the class, who sits by herself calls out. She always distance her seat from everyone else.
I throw her a piece of chocolate. "Thank you." She says quietly.
"You're welcome. If anyone gets anything right, they get chocolate." I announce the last part. Everyone's eyes got bug eyed.

"Alright class, great job! Homework is the ten questions on the first 6 pages of The Odyssey." I tell them, as they finish packing up. The bell rings, and they all scatter off.
"Um, Tykeil can you stay after for a little bit." He walks toward me, "yes, Ms. Gonzalez?" He ask, innocently, meanwhile he was talking throughout the whole damn class.

"Did you even listen to the story today?" I ask.

"My bad. I was too focused on something..." He trails off. He looks away.
"What's wrong, sweetie?" I ask, now sitting on the desk, as he's in front of me.
"Nothing... But, can I study at your house? With one of the twins...Please?" He ask, sitting on the desk across from me.
"You know I can't. It's completely inappropriate, for you to be at my house, with no parental figure agreeing to it."

"Call my dad, he'll say yes." He pleads. He calls his dad, and passes me the phone.

' Ty, what's wrong?' He ask, concerned.

'He's okay. This is Mrs. Gonzalez.'

'Just say it's Angela... Why are you on his phone. Thinking about me?'

'Bs! Tyshawn, I need parental consent that Tykeil can get a ride from you, or Eliza, so he can study.'

'That's the only reason you called?'

'Yes, little boy. Calm yourself.' I laugh at him. ' Anyway, so are you willing to?'
'Yeah. It's probably the best thing for him right now.'

'Alright, bye.'

'Bye baby.'

'Stop.' I hang up on him.

"What did he say?" Tykeil asks, sitting in the desk, with his head down.
"Yes."

He pops up, "oh shit! Yes!"
"Language little man." I smirk at him, as he leaves the classroom. "My bad, teach."
