Dear Diary,

Alice is like the bestest best friend ever. Oh, wait, scratch that. She is the bestest SISTER ever. I feel much attached to her somehow. We have this bond that no one could break. I am so happy to have her. She’s the sister I never had and the best friend I always wanted; all in one. We practically do everything together. We eat together, sleep in the same bed, go to school together and all other things you could imagine real sisters do. I just couldn’t imagine a second not being with her that’s why I got really worried when she got lost last Sunday. I’ll just have to deal with her not going with Church with us. She doesn’t tell me the reason why but I’d understand because she needs privacy and I’ll respect that.

Whenever I’m with her, I feel like we’re soaring to the clouds and that we were in our own world. We have this barrier between our world and other people and in our world there are no worries just happy moments. I’m always at ease when I’m with her because I know she’ll protect me. I will never ever replace her.

It's Monday, as usual I have to go to school. And, I have to hide Alice again from my bullies. As I got up, I greeted Alice and greeted me back, and my usual morning routine. After everything is prepared, I took Alice and put her in my bag.

I entered the school, and the bullies were bullying another student, so I'm safe, for now. As I walked inside the classroom, everything is pretty normal and as usual, it seemed liked nobody noticed me except for Maria, my new bully. She kept on bothering me about Alice.

"Hey! Where's your stinking doll?"

"Stop bothering me!" I cried.

"Why are you hiding it? Are you afraid that we'll rip it off?" she threatened me.

And before I could say another word, our teacher came. I took a deep breath. While classes were going on, I could feel someone staring at me. I turned to my right where I could see Maria. I looked at Maria's face; she had this wide grin on her face as if she's planning something unpleasant. I thought to myself, ‘She doesn't know where I hid Alice, does she?' I thought about it until classes are over. Finally its lunch time and I'll get to see Alice again. I took my bag and hurriedly went to the comfort room to check on Alice. I took her out of my bag and slowly patted Alice's head. But, I didn't notice that Maria followed me. She saw that I was holding Alice in my hands; approaching me quietly, she grabbed Alice and ran outside. I was startled. She was running so fast that I couldn't catch her. And finally, she stopped. She was there in the middle of the playground with my other classmates. They were all laughing at Alice. I forcibly grabbed Alice but Maria pushed me so hard and fell on the ground. And saw her rip Alice' dress. I cried because I can't do anything to save her. As I looked into Alice' face, I can see that she was really hurt. So, I stood up, hurriedly grabbed Alice and ran away from Maria. There was a certain relief in my heart that Alice was finally in good hands. I ran towards the back of the school and looked at Alice. She was all covered in dirt, her dress was torn off and she was nearly torn apart.

"I'm so sorry Alice, I didn't defend you from them. I didn't do anything to save you."

"I'm okay Eliz, at least you didn't get hurt." She replied.

I slowly put her into my bag and walked inside the classroom. As I entered the classroom, I saw Maria laughing. I just lowered my head and walked quietly towards my chair and waited for my teacher to arrive. But it seems like Maria wasn't through bullying me.

"Where's your ugly doll now Eliz? Did you dump her now into the trash?" and they all laughed so hard.

I just kept mum to spare Alice from any trouble. And finally, my teacher came in and began teaching. As soon as school was done, I hurried back home. I immediately cleaned and fixed Alice.
