Accident

MR. AND MRS. HENRY ROSE,

            I apologize for leaving your house so suddenly because I really feel uneasy there already. I really need to get away from your family, especially, Eliz. She had changed since the day that you gave her the doll who she named Alice.  There were rather unusual and creepy events that had happened and I just couldn’t fathom it anymore. I would like to tell you that I just want to ensure my safety.

             I hope you would understand. I love Eliz like my own daughter but the past events couldn’t be handled by the heart of an old lady. I hope you would find a replacement that could endure all the weird things happening. Good Luck and God Bless.

All I could see was a blurry vision of Mommy and Daddy crying beside me, and I can only hear faint voices coming from them. Mom was crying out my name a thousand times and dad was shouting to someone I didn't know, maybe it was the person who caused all this. I felt cold and my body couldn't move. I tried moving my right leg but it just caused me a lot of pain. It felt like my bones were all broken. I want to scream out of pain but even a single sigh couldn't come out from my mouth.

I heard the siren of the ambulance. They carried me inside of it and put something on my face. Mommy and Daddy were still at my side. They were still crying. I can hear the faint voice of my mother praying. Then suddenly, the blurry vision of them was slowly darkening and their faint voices were slowly vanishing. I felt my body was about to give up, then everything was gone.

            I heard birds chirping. I opened my eyes and saw Mommy and Daddy beside me. I looked around, and realized I wasn’t in my room. I was in a hospital. Confused, I tried to wake Mommy.

“Mommy?”

“Mmmm”

“Mommy? Why am I here?”

            Mommy slowly raised her head, yawned, and slowly opened her eyes.

“Oh Eliz, are you alright now?! Henry, Henry, wake up!” Mommy said joyfully while waking Daddy up

“Oh Eliz, you’re awake now! Thank heavens!”

            I was so confused. What exactly happened that they would greet me like this as soon as I woke up?

“What exactly happened Mommy?

“You don’t remember?” asked Mommy with a bit of sympathy in her eyes.

“No, I don’t.”

            Daddy patted my head and Mommy kissed my forehead. They looked at each other and looked back at me. They smiled and Mommy told me,

“We’ll tell you everything.”

            We were at home, chatting with Nanny. Then suddenly, we heard a crash outside. We all rushed and saw Eliz lying on the floor, unconscious. We saw a car beside her body. The driver of that car got out and approached Eliz. He was begging for help, guilty of what he did.

            I felt Henry and Nanny passed by me running to the unconscious Eliz. I only watched them. I suddenly felt weak and fell on my knees, tears came running down my face.

“ELIZ!” I screamed and tears kept on flowing heavily. I ran to her and did everything to wake her up.

“Don’t joke about this Eliz”

“Come on, open your eyes”

“This is not happening right, Henry?”

            I looked at Henry, he was furious. He looked at the man and approached him. He grabbed the man’s shirt and shouted,
