What started off as a normal night, hanging out with my best friend, Sarah, quickly turned bad with one question.

"Excuse me ladies, have you seen my dog?"

The asker was a white male, he had dark brown eyes that were barely visible behind a mob of shoulder length, jet black hair.

The man had an odd style, he was wearing an orange t-shirt with a heavy black raincoat and pink, white and black checkered pants with a pair of dark blue sneakers.

"What kind of dog, sir?" I asked, my name is Michelle.

"A golden lab" the man replied.

"Where did you last see your dog?" Sarah asked.

"At that park over there" the man replied pointing across the street to a patch of grass with some trees surrounding it.

"We'll come have a look with you, if you want" I offered.

Sarah shot me a look as if to say uh, what are you doing? We don't know him!

But of course, I didn't listen. Now, I can't help think if I had listened to Sarah's look, we wouldn't be in this mess.

"Sure, that'd be great!" The man replied with a kind smile.

We followed the man over to the patch of grass.

"Okay, we'll go through the trees and you stay here in case he comes back" I said.

"Okay, perfect, and thank you both again ladies" the man said.

"Your welcome" I said, and with one last look at the man, we walked off through the trees.

Once we were out of earshot, Sarah turned to me.

"Why would you volunteer us to help him find his dog?" She demanded.

"It's called being polite. You should try it sometime" I replied as the wind caught up with us and I had to pull my brown leather jacket tighter around my dark blue dress.

"I'm always polite! But this is just a little too much!" Sarah shouted at me.

"I mean, we told him we haven't seen his dog, so why do we need to help him find it!" She exclaimed.

"He looked distressed. I was only trying to help" I replied with a sigh and shivering at the cold breeze that just blew by us.

"Yeah, well, I would appreciate it if you would stop volunteering me for things I might not want to do!" Sarah exclaimed.

"Okay, fine, I get it. I'm sorry, happy?" I spat back at her.

Sarah nodded and we continued to look around for the dog.

After about five minutes, Sarah turned to me.

"Did you hear that?" She asked me.

"What?" I asked.

"That sound, that cracking sound" Sarah replied, I shook my head.

"Let's just keep going" I ordered.

"We've been searching forever, let's just go back" Sarah complained.

"Come on, just five more minutes and then I promise we'll go back, ok?" I promised her.

Sarah sighed, but nodded and we kept walking.

"Did you hear it that time?" Sarah asked.

"Hear what!" I asked starting to get a little annoyed.

"The cracking sound!" Sarah shouted as a stick broke.

"Okay. That one I heard" I said.

We turned around to look at the trees behind us.

There was another cracking sound, and Sarah and I saw two big yellow eyes staring out of the trees, looking right at them.
