After the long ride through the chute, I was spit out onto a cold stone floor in a very dark room.
The only light in the whole room were two touches that were lit on two opposing walls, and even they didn't give off very much light.
Slowly, I stood up and immediately fell back down from the pain in my ankle.
I must've fallen on it because it was hard to walk on it.
But I got up, knowing what to expect and looked around the room.
In front of me, in about 20 steps were 4 steps that led up to a door.
Slowly, I hobbled over to it.
Once I reached it, I wrapped my fingers around the handle, turned it and pulled.
Locked.
I sighed and turned to go back down the steps when I heard a click behind me.
The door swung open with such force it scared me.
In the doorway stood Marcus, face covered in blood from Sarah scratching him, breathing heavily and looking angry, like I'd just killed his mother.
"Get back, slowly"
I was frozen in place for a moment.
"GET BACK"
The command jolted me and I slowly, painfully, walked back down the stairs to the ground.
He slammed the door shut, so we were in almost complete darkness. You could hear him breathing heavily, and you heard his loud, slow, footsteps.
Before I knew what was happening, Marcus was standing right in front of me, staring at me resentfully. He seemed different from when we first met him.
"Turn away"
I stared at him for a minute, before slowly turning around.
Behind me was what looked like, in the dark shadows, a row of jail cells, each with a number on the front.
"Keep moving forward until I tell you to stop"
As he spoke, I could feel him breathing on the back of my neck.
I gulped and moved forward.
"Stop. Stay here"
Marcus pushed me to the side, knocking me over so I fell to the ground with a small whine.
I heard a sound like he was unlocking something. And then the squeaking of an old door opening.
Suddenly, I was pulled back to my feet and shoved forward.
He slammed a door behind me and I heard a lock click shut.
"Welcome to our house. If you're a good little girl and keep quiet down here, maybe, I'll give you some light in your cell" he said before I heard his footsteps echo as he walked away.
I got a glimpse of light from him opening the door.
"Wait" I called.
Marcus stopped. Just as he was about to close the door, and turned.
"What?" He asked, irritatedly.
"Where's Sarah" I managed.
He was silent for a moment before speaking.
"She was naughty" he replied indicating the blood on his face.
"Naughty girls, get punished" he said with a smirk. Some of the blood had gotten onto his teeth, and had dried. But he didn't seem to mind.
