Gavin’s POV

So I have been stuck on Earth now for at least 4 months now, and I have no way to get back to my home planet. This officially sucks. You know what else sucks? The fact that I can’t erase Avril’s face from my mind. She has been imprinted in the backs of my eyelids, and I really want it to stop – even if she is a pretty sight for my dull life.

I’ve also been wandering around the outskirts of town, with nothing else to do, since I have no home to go to. I hate those damn ‘friends’ of mine. I swear I will kill them; they’ve caused me so much trauma. I decided to call it a night, since I haven’t been too lucky in finding any useful food…

I find myself walking through a foggy hallway. Distantly, I hear Avril sobbing- is she all right? I’m worried, I really hope she’s okay. I try to run towards the noise, and I end up in front of a huge cell door. I peek through the one hole and I see Avril laying on the floor; naked and covered in blood. I shudder to myself; I have to save her. I start pounding on the door, kicking the door, doing anything – but it’s of no use. I see something sparkle in the corner of my eye. Looking at it, I see a large white sphere, that’s glowing. The sphere says,

“Innocence is something so pure – it should never be tainted. Hurry now, or your presence in this world will be of no use”

-

I awoke with a start. Innocence? What does the sphere mean? Is my destiny all revolving around Avril? Is she the one who will be tainted? If she is, I have to save her! The sphere, my oracle, hasn’t been wrong yet; and I dearly hope to all the gods and goddesses out there that this time it’s different... Scrambling out of my makeshift camp, I try to trace my path back to her home. After finding the back door conveniently unlocked, I see a note addressed to someone called May. It says,

May, I might end up staying late today after the party for some… um… reasons. Anyways, don’t be worried if I come home after midnight today. Love you bunches! – Avril XX

Hmm after midnight? Is this from yesterday or today? It’s around 5 am now… so probably yesterday… which means she didn’t come home yet, and that’s where I need to go to find her! But where is this party? I find an agenda that I think belongs to Avril with all the information I need.

After arriving at the house, I see that there are police men everywhere. Definitely not a good sign. I recognize Avril’s friend that discovered me the day that Avril saved me. I walk up to her to find her crying. She glanced up at me and smiles faintly.

“Hey.. You’re Gavin right? I’m sorry we got off on the wrong foot… I never thought you were that into cosplay.”

“Whatever, it doesn’t matter. Have you seen Avril?”

Another guy walks up to us and says his name is Clark. He explains to me how after the party ended, no one knew where Avril was, and her phone is unresponsive. There is also apparently some blood inside the main floor, and there are no traces of her outside. SHE’S MISSING! Oh man, this is worse than I expected. The cops haven’t found much, and are saying that she’s probably passed out somewhere in some guy’s home. Cher starts yelling at the police officers:

“I never thought I’d say this, but Avril is a virgin, I swear she is. She would never do such a thing, and she doesn’t drink. At all. This isn’t some kind of joke officer. NOW, if this was your daughter, you would be scrambling off your lazy ass to go find her.”  The officer seems bored; how could he? Isn’t his job to protect the people?? The officer assures us that they’ll try to do as much as they can, but to me, that is not enough.

I need to get in there to scan the area, but the officers said I would just screw up the evidence. If only they knew…

I stealthily made my way around the house and slipped through a back door. Following a trail of destroyed decorations, I found the main party room. I quickly scanned it with my tracking device and made my way out, just as fast. Checking my device, it says that Avril is in some hotel nearby, and an expensive one too. Maybe she really did get put out? But I have to be sure.

-------------------------------

The hotel is perfectly normal and very expensive looking; everyone is giving me these weird looks. But screw them, I’m on a very serious mission right now. Just then, a thought occurs to me. What if she was kidnapped here? It’s really unlikely that Avril would stay here… What if she’s in the basement? It’s not like thugs would put her in a fancy suite, right?

After walking past some suspicious security guards, I found the basement. And I will be honest with you. The doors and walls are literally soundproof. GREAT. I walk around the first corner and I find a small storage room. Inside are normal janitor stuff, except… there’s something that looks like… OH MY. There’s a dagger inside the mopping bucket. And behind that mop is a… door handle? I open it to find a dark room – might I mention silent too. I step on foot inside and a small light turns on. The room is empty except for a wall that is see-through, and a small chair. I walk over to the transparent wall and I see AVRIL! I’m about to yell out to her, but then I notice that there are others in there as well. There are three men and they have Avril on the floor and chained to the wall by her arms. Oh god…. What are they going to do to her? One man, who looks like he eats nails for breakfast, crouches beside her face. He pets her hair gently and runs his finger along her jaw;

“Avril, Avril, Avril… you’ve been such a naughty girl haven’t you? You’re supposed to keep your word – after all, that’s what your daddy promised us”

Daddy? What promise? What promise is worth this violence? The second man, who looks like he’s in his twenties, walks up to Avril with a syringe in his hand; he also kneels beside her head.

“AVRIL! You better tell us what your father was working on or I will use this. And this is no normal drug. This is something that will knock you out for a week, and we could do anything we wanted with your precious little body” As he said that, he smirked and ran a hand down her body. I clenched my fists in anger; I have to stop this now. Poor Avril looks so confused, she doesn’t know what to say. I’m about to walk out to try and find the door leading to her, when I notice the third man walk up to Avril, unzipping his pants. My eyes turn to slits, I couldn’t control it anymore – out of my hand blasts out a kinetic energy I didn’t know I possessed. It shattered the wall and blew back all three men. They were dazed and stared at me in fear – probably because my projection turned off. But whatever. I walked up to Avril, cut off her chains and carried her out of there.

Just as I was about to leave the basement, I felt a sharp stabbing in my shoulder, causing Avril to fall. I heard a man say,

“Don’t think you can take her away from us that easily. You’ll have to fight for her”
