It was your birthday tomorrow. Dylan hadn't said anything about throwing you a party or going out to dinner or anything like that. You were sitting in the living room of the apartment that you and Dylan shared. Right now you were watching a comedy on Netflix while playing a game on your phone. You got a text from a group chat named Y/n's Surprise Birthday Party! Dylan had texted a bunch of your friends and family saying, 'tomorrow at 6:00pm come prepared to set up a party at our apartment to give y/n an awesome birthday surprise.' You started to laugh. Dylan had invited you to your own group chat about your own party. You decided not to say anything and just pretend like it never happened. You were actually really surprised and happy that Dylan was doing this for you. None of your previous boyfriends were as thoughtful as he was.
Dylan got home around 7:00 and kissed you on the cheek. "Hey babe, who's excited for their birthday tomorrow?"
"I am!" You said raising your hand. "What are we doing for it?"
"I'm so sorry. It's a really important shooting day for Teen Wolf. I asked Jeff if I could at least have the afternoon off and he said we would be filming till at least 10:00."
"It is okay," You said pretending to sound hurt. "I guess I will just go out with your best friend."
"Sure, I'm so sorry once again, I love you."
"Love you too."
All night you were getting notifications from the group chat. At one point you put your phone on do not disturb so Dylan wouldn't know that your phone went off at the same time his did. If you left the group chat it would show. It wasn't like you were actually reading the conversation on what food or decorations people were bringing. You tired so hard not to look guilty in front of Dylan, because you felt so bad you knew.
It was the day of your birthday. Dylan woke you up early, much to your dismay but with a pancake breakfast so it made up for it. "Happy Birthday!" He said once you sat down in the kitchen to eat.
"Thanks, are you sure you can't leave work early?"
"Yeah I'm positive sorry."
"It's okay." You said sweetly giving Dylan a hug. A hug that turned into a kiss and a kiss that turned into a make out. Your pancakes were cold, by the time you stopped kissing. Dylan left for work and you had nothing else to do except for run errands and get ready to go to dinner with your best friend.
The group chat kept going off all day. Your phone had like thirty notifications in like three hours. But you held off on reading any of them.
You went out for dinner with your best friend. It was a lovely night. You guys gossiped and talked about your current relationships. After an hour of sitting at the fancy restaurant, you both paid the bill and headed home.
When you opened the door it was pitch black. For a moment you were crushed was your surprise party not happening, were you not going to see Dylan at all. But then the lights turned on and thirty of your friends popped out of your furniture and yelled."surprise." You started to laugh and act as shocked as you could.
Dylan came up to you and gave you a hug and a short, sweet kiss. "Happy birthday Y/N." He looked so excited and relieved that he pulled this off.
"Thanks Dylan, great surprise." You spent the rest of the night eating cake, talking and dancing with your best friends. It was one of the best birthdays you had ever had and you never told Dylan that you had knew about it all along.
Thanks for reading. I'm sorry this one was so short, I will make the next one longer. If you have any prompts you want me to write about please leave them in the comments. Please vote and comment your options, lots of love- Chloe
