Lost Thoughts

Slipped Away

In the foyers of my mind we have talked

In my heart we have together danced to never pat

 You have filled my dreams of day and dreams of night

As I lay in my lonely bed

I am lulled to sleep with your remembered smile

Awake to thoughts of waking  in your arms

But nay these were not to be

for our chance together has slipped away

to leave us with bittersweet memories of chance conversations

and shared smiles and laughter.

For the time we had is what we were destined to have.
