"Mom, where are you going?" My five year old self asked.

"Mommy is going away for a while, okay?" my Mom stuttered while tear drops were falling down her eyes.

"Why are you crying Mommy?" Faith asked.

"I'm not crying baby, I'm just sad that I won't get to see you for a long time," she replied.

"Don't leave us," I cried. Suddenly, my mother hugged my sister and I in the most warm but desperate hug.

"Take care of you're little sister, Amelia, I love you so much, and don't you forget that okay?" She sobbed.

"No don't go," I shouted when an invisible force was trying to pull me away from my mother into darkness, and all I could see was her sad smile constantly replaying on my mind. Then I felt as if the light and warmth of my whole existence was taken away from me. She abandoned us, what other reason could there be? I asked myself.

"Amelia, Amelia, wake up," someone said while softly shaking me,"Amelia." Then I opened my eyes, realising what I saw was just a dream. I looked around to see Faith's confused and worried face as she held onto me. I found myself heavily breathing and I was sweating all over my body, my clothes were damp like I had gone swimming.

"Did you have the same dream again?" She asked. I nodded in reply. When I finally calmed down from my heavy breathing, she let go of her hold from me. In that moment I realised that Mom was never going to come back again.

"You know how crazy it is to loose someone who used to be a huge part of our life in mere minutes," I said sighing.

"I think it's time to move past this Amelia, she's been gone for twelve freaking years, we don't even know if she's dead or alive," she stated, " also it's high time for her to come back but she hasn't, don't let that haunt you for the rest of your life Amelia."

"Yeah, you're probably right it's time to move on," I sighed.

"Come downstairs and have some breakfast, Dad made your favorite, blueberry pancakes," she said with a wide grin.

"You go ahead, I need to wash up first," I said.
_______
"Mmmmmhmmmm," I muttered, while running down the stairs after smelling pancakes.

"Good morning, how did you sleep honey?" Scott Hunt, my Dad asked. My Dad was the best father in the whole wide world, he might have his flaws but his sincerity and love is much more prominent.

"Good morning Dad," I replied kissing him on his cheek. Then I sat next to Faith on the stool, who started eating without me, that traitor, but that thought was quickly erased when my Dad put some delicious blueberry pancakes covered with maple syrup in front of me. Yum!

"Thanks Dad, you can do no wrong," I said while delightfully groaning when a huge chunk of pancake was stuffed in to my mouth. I know I eat like a pig, don't judge.

"I am in heaven right now, " I said with a loud groan. Then I heard laughs from Dad and Faith, but I ignored them so that I could spend more of my time eating these scrumptious pancakes.

"So, the quote of today is," Dad announced,"Drumroll please."

"But Dad," we both groaned with frustration, with what we were going to hear. Dad's daily quotes are about to begin as we speak.

"People change, things go wrong, shit happens, but life goes on," he stated while saluting like a soldier marching at boot camp.

"Hurray," Faith snorted,"I hope this time that quote will be useful.
