"We make the best of our short time
And though it's not enough you assure me that it's fine"Listen to Puppy Love by This Wild Life
"Get out of the car," Jayce demanded. I furrowed my eyebrows, thinking how much more ill-mannered he could get. Stupid jerk. I alighted from the posh vehicle, spotted the girls and hurriedly walked to their side.
"How's the ride with my brother dearest?" Jeanette asked with a knowing tone.
"I have been better," I deadpanned, rolling my eyes to the top my head.
"I would appreciate it, a lot, if you could just tell that straight in my face instead of talking behind my back," Jayce added. I spun around to see him folding his hands across his chest, wondering when he had sneaked up on us.
"I don't exactly have a death wish you see," I retorted and gave him the stink eye.
"I did not know that I was a murderer," he scoffed. I was about to push on with the argument when Ed and Covson decided to rolled in. Ed was craving for some Chinese food, claiming that he was homesick. Ah, so he was a Chinese, I was definitely not expecting that. Nobody expressed any form of objections and it was my first time here, so I had resolved to go with the flow.
Vibrant balloons and flower baskets lined the entrance of the newly-opened shopping mall, attracting the eyes of many passers-by. Shoppers were transformed into athletes as they warm up their muscles and set in motion to rush into the mall. It must jolly well be the markdown of prices as a celebration of the grand opening.
A python-like queue slithered from the restaurant we went up to. Just as I thought we were going to abandoned the idea of dining there, Ed stood forward and had a few words with whom looked like the manager with his exceptional, wrinkled-free uniform. We were then brought into a private room that had a majestic landscape of the city. I was clueless about the authority these kids held. If only someone could fill me in on the details. No menus were given out since Ed had taken the liberty and ordered for all us using fluent Chinese.
I was contemplating on how I was going to pay him back for the cost of today's lunch when I felt everybody's gaze concentrated on me."Quit wasting our time and answer the damn question, Karlie Knight," Jayce spoke, clearly displeased with the lack of attention I was giving.
"Jay, stop being rude to her!" Yoana exclaimed and punched him in the shoulder.
"We were asking you if you have any places in mind that you may want to visit," Covson quietly told me. I was currently sandwiched between Jeanette and Covson.
I shook my head, "Sorry, I was just thinking about other stuff. You guys can decide for me. I didn't look up much on that."
Right at that moment, the waitresses made an entrance to the room and a whole spread of toothsome food was served. The tantalising galore of Chinese cuisine being showcased got my appetite all fired up. I dug in ungraciously.
"Well, I have just the place to go to. Just be prepared to have a whale of time. Oh and please stop spacing out. You do that all the time around us," Ed responded excitedly.
"I will."

Unfortunately, an hour later I found myself stuck with the spawn of Satan again. We were in one of the many cabins of the Singapore Flyer. Apparently, with the given VIP treatment it was better to go in twos. Jeanette decided that it would be a good idea to decide the pairing using the 'Black and White' method. Jayce begrudgingly gave in to his sister's wishes and the result was one which I totally resented.
