"Look at the girl in the mirror,"
you whisper in my head.
My eyes fill up with tears
at the hurtful things you said.
"You're too thin."
You're not pretty."
"You have pale skin."
"You're too skinny."
You make fun of everything.
Are all of these flaws?
I hate the bitter sting
of the way you make me feel small.
Why do you judge me?
Why am I not good enough?
Why do you ignore my pleas?
Why can't you just love?
