Chapter 4: Meaningless

It was time for gym class and they are ordered to run 6 laps around the whole school!

"What did we do to deserve this?!" Kevin yelled.

"This is fun!" Kevin yelled.

"Serina! Minami! Let's see who's faster between the two of you!" Wayne yelled. Serina and Minami glared at each other and started running so fast. They were now far away from the group in split second.

"Whoa... Let's catch up and see who the winner is!" Kevin yelled and managed to catched up with Serina and Minami, but they were very tired.

"I-It's... A draw..." Wayne breathlessly said.

[ Lunch Break ]

Serina started eating the donut Sonic made for her and got surprised.

"This is good. I never thought Sonic could make these." Serina said.

"I know right! He's really a husband material." Nozomi said.

"How's your relationship going along?" Serina asked.

"Well, we're both busy but we always keep in touch with each other! So we're completely fine!" Nozomi yelled. Serina pouted and looked at Eli.

"See?! We would've been like that if you didn't kissed Umi!" Serina yelled.

"We would be like that if you didn't overreacted!" Eli yelled.

"It was your fault!" Serina yelled. Eli looked away and scoffed.

"Forgive me already." Eli said. Serina was about to speak up until Wayne hugged her from behind.

"How's it goin', babyyy~?" Wayne asked. Serina glared at him and elbowed his stomach.

"Stop hugging me." Serina said.

"I was just trying to be sweet to my first love." Wayne said.

"Just fuck." Nico said.

"NICO DIDN'T YOU AND MAKI DIDN'T FOR THE FIRST TIME IN THE GIRL'S WASHROOM??" Serina asked out loud.

"Y-YAH!! Don't say that out loud! Baka!" Maki yelled. Serina just grinned evily and looked at Wayne.

"Hey, hey, you don't kind hanging out after school right?" Serina asked.

"Don't you have practice?" Wayne asked.

"No! Because Yuuna, Yuri, and Kiba and the others will be taking care of the kids!" Serina yelled.

"Ahaha! Sure! Let's get Minami and Kevin too~!" Wayne yelled.

"Awww, we wanna come too!" Nozomi said.

"Not good for kids." Serina said.

"I'm older than you Kotobuki." Nozomi said.

"Still! I can't even imagine what the hell will you do! We're going to. A . Bar. Mostly like a club but whatever." Serina said.

"Heyyy, don't tell you'll be looking for chicks there." Umi said.

"I already found one for you." Serina said, secretly pointing at Kotori which Umi only saw. Umi gasped, blushed hard, and looked away. You guys got the joke right?

"I thought you will only have your eyes on Eli even when you both break up?!" Nico yelled.

"I never said we should break up!! We're still together but just 3 meters apart!" Serina yelled.

"So you're sayng you're taking an actual break to your relationship?" Hanayo asked.

"Yes." Serina said.

"We can still do this and that but... Not too much." Serina said. Eli just looked down on the grass sadly.

[ History Class ]

Serina was half listening half not. She was both listening to the study and thinking about Eli.

'How is she... This is Eli's homeroom teacher isn't she? I'm surprised tha this teacher is both teaching 3rd year and some 2nd years.' Serina thought then someone from Eli's class barged in to the room.

"Sensei!! Ayase-san, fainted!!" The guy yelled. Serina, Wayne, Kevin, Minami, and Umi immediately jolted up and ran to the room with the teacher.

"Elicchi! Elicchi!" Nozomi yelled.

"Nozomi, what happened??" Umi asked.

"I don't know she just suddenly fainted!" Nozomi yelled.

"Take her to the infirmary!" The teacher yelled. Kevin quickly carried Eli bridal style and ran to the infirmary.

"We'll take care of her." Minami said and followed the others. Kevin placed Eli in a bed and sighed in relief.

"Maybe it was because she's too tired." Wayne said.

"Or maybe because of fatigue. She wasn't been able to sleep much since her and Serina's 'break'." Nozomi said.

"That's not my fault." Serina said.

"Do you even feel bad?" Kevin asked.

"No, she fainted, so what? She'll wake up soon." Serina said.

"What? You're just gonna shove it off like that?! What if Eli's ill?? Everytime you faint she always worry about you!! But you don't give a single damn about her?!" Umi yelled. Serina stayed quiet.

"Is she... Is she that meaningless to you?" Umi asked. Serina averted her eyes to Umi.

"You and Wayne have been lovey dovey these days! We know the truth! She doesn't even know about it! Is your and Wayne's relationship something you can't tell to her?! Huh?!" Umi yelled, pushing Serina.

"Umi--"

"Is your and Eli's relationship so fucking meaningless that it can be swayed with a few words?!?" Umi yelled, successfully pushing Serina to the wall and both of them falling to the ground. Umi was crying. Serina was still emotionless but she felt bad inside.

"Umi-chan..." Nozomi mumbled.

"You mean so much to Eli... Don't you notice that?" Umi sobbed.

"I didn't." Serina said.

"Yeah... That's because you never gave a damn about her--"

"I did." Serina said.

"I just don't care about her anymore." Serina added and grabbed Umi's collar.

"Do you really think i would give some attention to you and her after what you've done to me? Didn't you even think how it hurts? Didn't you know that Eli herself had a lover? I don't care if you were drunk at that time. You're smart, you should've known that Eli already belongs to me!" Serina yelled and pushed Umi back.

"Stop it!" Wayne yelled, pushing Serina. He knows that Serina is angry. And it's not gonna be good.

"Umi just wants you to realize that Eli cares so much about you and you should appreciate it when you have the chance!" Wayne yelled.

"Chance... Hmph. It is because i'm going to die in a young age very soon?" Serina asked. Everyone was surprised.

"Sonic told me my condition got worser last time on Canada. And there's a 50% chance that i might die and 50% not." Serina said and stood up.

"Basically putting it up, i just gotta appreciate everything she does to me while i have the chance. I'll be dying anyway. The reason i'm ignoring it because it will just go to waste when i die. I don't wanna see her walk back to our memories together and get hurt too badly..." Serina said and walked out of the room.

"Hey... Serina!" Kevin yelled.

'Idiot.' Wayne thought, clenching his fists.
