A strange atmosphere for Mandy. She was seated next to Gerald Ryans. She was nervous and she doesn't know what to do or say. She kept on glancing his handsome face. Nanny Barbara was preparing food for everybody. Grandpa was changing upstairs.

Mandy and Gerald were in the dining table without even making some unnecessary noise. Gerald was calmly looking at the huge window. "You still won't talk?" Mandy broke the silence.

"Nothing to talk about" This time he looked at Mandy.

"You're making the atmosphere awkward" She pouted. He looked away slowly.

No response from Gerald. She remembered how she and Gerald would play near the lake. Oh, how she admired Gerald. First, she thought of him as a brother but suddenly her feelings changed and she could tell that she's in love. Her grandpa and Gerald's father were very close friends that's why both Mandy and Gerald are also close when they were kids.

Years have passed and her relationship with Gerald became inevitable. Gerald was busy with running his father's company. Then and there Gerald became distant of everything. He distant himself from his hobbies, from fun, from freedom and from Mandy. He focused on his work just like what his father said. Gerald never met her mother and he never asked where she was.

When Mandy's grandpa opened another branch of their business in Winnipeg, Canada, he bought Gerald with him to help him with his works. They've been there for 2 years already. Mandy never knew that Gerald went with his grandpa because Gerald left without her knowing.

Now, that Gerald is back, Mandy doesn't know what to do. She may want to act like nothing's wrong but she feels something might happen yet she doesn't know. Complicated right?

The delicious food was already prepared when Grandpa came down with his comfortable attire.

"Barbara always prepare fantastic meal" he exclaimed.

Nanny Barbara smiled. "Only for Foxx" she replied.

"Good. Now let's eat and I'm going to discuss something" He chuckled and took a chair.

They politely grabbed their plates and started eating. "Actually, it's better to discuss with your parents around"

"Why is their presence important grandpa?" Mandy took a piece of her salad.

"Because it's something that they should know first.." He smiled.

Mandy had a very bad feeling about this. Gerald just kept on eating.

"Mandy, honey. Maybe I should tell both of you first bacause I think it's the right time. I'll tell your parents when they come home soon enough." Mr. John Foxx dropped his spoon and looked at them both.

"I want you, two to get married before I retire"

Mandy choked on her salad. Gerald was quiet shocked because he stopped eating.

"WHAT?! Are you out of your mind grandpa? Do you know how sudden that is? I'm too young to get married!" Mandy's voice filled out the whole house.

"I know but, I think you, two are perfect for each other. Since you were kids, you two were very suitable. I also want Gerald to be grandson-in-law" Mr. Foxx explained his side softly.

Mandy can't hide her blushing face. To get married with a guy he absolutely likes, what a Jackpot! But, still she's too young for it. She's not ready for it and she's 100% sure that Gerald Ryans won't like it.

"How about you, Gerald? Will you be alright with it?"

Everyone in the room eyed on him. He wiped his mouth with a napkin. "I'll go for it, President Foxx"

Mandy's jaw dropped. Is this really happening?

"Well, good choice. I'll tell both of your parents when they come home this Thanksgiving" Mr. Foxx stood up. "Well, I think everything's set for the both of you. I'll have to proceed to my bed and rest" He added then left.

Mandy's in the living room watching The Walking Dead just to try erasing the thoughts of what happened during lunch.

Gerald came downstairs, maybe done packing his things and went to the kitchen. Mandy eyed him until he reached his destination. He was going for a coffee. How could he not feel an annoyance of what just happened? Mandy thought. She focused on the television again.

"Weren't you disturbed on the sudden marriage?" She stood and didn't have time to stop herself.

"If it's on business purposes, then no I wasn't disturbed" He replied flatly while taking taking a sip on his coffee.

"Business purposes? What about your-" He cut her off.

"If you also want to know about my personal purposes, then yes. I'm very disturbed"

Mandy gave him a sharp look. "Well, I'm very disturbed too"

"Really? You look desperate when you say that" Gerald chuckled.

"Desperate? You think I'm desperate?" She raised a tone.

"Aren't you?" He half-smiled then left her hanging on the living room. How could he say that?

Mandy has a very bad feeling about this marriage thing.
