"So you're really not going to tell me where we're going?" Janix asked.
"Nope but you're about to find out." Josh said while turning down a dirt road. After driving for a minute he turned right into a driveway. There was a beautiful log cabin behind the driveway.
"Wow, this is beautiful!" Janix said while gazing at the nature settings around the cabin.
"It's my uncles cabin, he only uses it in the summer." Josh told her.
"So he lets you use it the rest of the year?" Janix asked.
"Oh gosh no, all the doors are locked, he's afraid I'll burn the place down when he's not with me!" Josh said with a chuckle.
"Then why are we here?" Janix asked back.
"He said I couldn't use the cabin, he said nothing about the rest of the property." He said.
"Oh, so you found a loop hole." Janix replied. "But this is technically trespassing you know."
"Call it what you want." Josh said like a joke. He then proceeded to open the drivers side door, get out and walk around to the other side, opening the passenger side door. "You coming?" He asked.
"I guess so, I've got nowhere else to go." Janix said while jumping out of the truck. Josh walked past the cabin with Janix following and turned around the back to see a picnic table on the dock by the lake. "Wow, this is beautiful!" She said.
"You said that already!" Josh said.
"Yeah but that was about the cabin." Janix told him. They walked over to the picnic table and sat down.
Josh then reached below the picnic table and grabbed a picnic basket and said "Anica told me you love pizza so..."
"Oh my god, you brought me pizza!" Janix said with a smile on her face.
"Yup and fries!" Josh said while grabbing a plate with pizza and some fries out of the picnic basket.
"Oh my god, you're amazing!" Janix said while reaching for some fries. "So you talk to Anica about me?" She asked.
"I might have asked about you once or twice." Josh said. "Maybe 3 times. Is that creepy?" He asked.
"A little bit but it's also kinda sweet."Janix said smiling.
"So you and Anica." Josh said
"Yeah, what about us?" Janix asked.
"Are you really anything alike?" He asked
"In someways yes, in a lot of other ways not at all." Janix told him
"Like what?" Josh asked.
"Well she's a lot more outgoing then I am, she's more likely to tell you what she's thinking then I am." Janix said to Josh.
"Is that a bad thing?" He asked.
"I don't know, what do you think?" She asked him.
"I think I'm going to find out what you're thinking." Josh told her.
The next hour was filled with laughs and conversations about their futures. When they were finished, it was starting to get dark out so they decided to leave.
Josh opened up the passenger side door, letting Janix get in, before slamming it shut for her. He threw the picnic basket in the back of the truck and walked to the drivers side where he got in and started the engine.
The drive back to Janix's house was mostly silent, small conversations here and there until they drove into the driveway of her families house. "Umm, I actually had fun!" Janix said.
"You sound surprised?" Josh asked.
"No, I'm not surprised it's just..." she said before taking a long pause then saying "Never mind, I should get going."
"Wait a second, I have a question for you?" Josh said stopping her from opening the passenger door.
"Um, okay?" She said.
"I just wanted to ask if you would want to do this again sometime?" Josh asked her.
"It depends, are you asking me what I think you're asking me?" Janix asked back.
"If you think I'm asking you to think about being my girlfriend, then yeah I'm asking you what you think I'm asking you." Josh said
"Well I guess you'll just have to take me on that second date to find out!" Janix said before exiting the truck leaving a smile on his face.
