Hold Me

Chapter 7: Friday night

       Head lights lit up the street as Josh turned his truck to go pick up Ryan and Tina. "Did you ask your parents if you could come to PEI in the summer?" Janix asked Josh.

      "Oh yeah, they said sure just as long as it's at the beginning of the summer, cause they want me home at the end to get ready for school." Josh replied.

      "Oh yeah, you're gonna be a senior next year." Janis said surprised. "It's crazy, this time last year, you were just some guy that I ran into and made me drop all of my papers, which by the way Anica got pissed at me for cause they were out of order."

      "Yeah well we're all friends now. But you know what's even crazier to think." Josh asked.

      "What?" Janix asked.

      "This time next year, I'll be in my last year of high school, you'll be in your second last year of high school, and we'll have been together for 2 years!" Josh said with a smile on his face while he pulled over by Ryan's house.

      "Wow, that's awesome!" Janix replied before giving Josh a kiss.

      "There they are." Josh said while Ryan and Tina walked down the driveway of Ryan's house.

      "Hey guys!" Josh said to Ryan and Tina as the got into the back seat of his truck.

      "Hi!" Tina replied.

      "How are you guys?" Janix asked as Josh began to drive down the the street.

      "Good!" Ryan replied politely.

      "I'm happy you guys coach gave you tonight's practice off so we could do this!" Janix said to Josh and Ryan.

      "Well he's making us practice again tomorrow, with the championships coming up, I've had to take so much time off work for football practice." Ryan told them.

     "Well when we win the championship it will all be worth is of course." Josh said while looking in his rear view mirror to see his best friend Ryan sitting in the back seat with his girlfriend.

      The conversation continued for 5 more minutes while they drove to a restaurant . They were driving down a small road when they notices a car swerving on the road while driving towards them.

      "Babe, that guys swerving a lot, you might want to pull over till he passes." Janix suggested.

      "Yeah that's probably a good idea." Josh agreed. He proceeded to pull the truck over as the car continued speeding towards them.

      "That persons swerving a lot." Tina pointed out.

      "Their probably drunk, I'll call the cops." Janix said while grabbing her purse for her phone.

      She began dialing 911 into the phone when she heard Ryan yell "Oh my god!" The cars head lights came fast towards their truck smashing into the left side of the truck. The truck flipped over several times before landing on it's roof in the woods on the side of the road.

      "911, what's your emergency?" A woman's voice rang through Janix's smashed phone that lied on the side of the road after flying out of the car. "Hello? Hello, is anyone there?" The operator asked again.
