4 – Raven Pierce
She stood still in front of her locker. Should she tell Patrick? Of course she should, but then she was having second thoughts. She wouldn’t want to concern Patrick of more dangers. Roma was sure of something for once, what or who she is can never be safe for anyone.
Tonight at 9, she glanced around, looking for the source of the voice echoing inside her head. She knew it was Ivy.
“Hey, do you want to come with me tonight?” standing next to her was Patrick, holding a light blue flyer.
“Where? Don’t tell me you’re up to another demon hunting in Planet Apes?” she smiled mockingly which made Patrick’s face turn red.
“Don’t think I don’t know what you’re on about. Next time, I’ll be the one saving your butt.” finally, his normal color came back and he handed out the flyer to Roma, his face bright with a smile. “Silver Star’s playing tonight in Pandemonium. Wanna come?” she was smart enough to know this is a good opportunity to have an excuse. Sebastian would ask her where she’s going and now, she has an answer.
“Sure! But wait, don’t you hate clubs?”
“Weren’t you listening? Silver Star is playing.” Silver Star…
“Silver Star? Isn’t that your skater-dude-group?” she asked. Unable to hide the confusion in her face.
“We’re trying out a new trend. Skating and being in a band is cool. We get a lot of girls.” he smirked. Whatever, as long as this would be my excuse, she thought.
“Mmkay then.”
It was past 8 when she saw Vander’s pick up truck in front of their house. Patrick pressed the doorbell impatiently. Sebastian answered the door and to his shock, he’d expected him.
“Roma told me. You’re playing in Pandemonium?” Patrick nodded.
“She’ll be fine with me. I swear.” he added, like reading what’s on Sebastian’s mind.
“She better be, Patrick. I trust you. But I don’t trust your band skills, I don’t even know you play any instrument.” he let out a laugh, Patrick punched him slightly on the arm and laughed.
“You better come too if you don’t believe in our abili—“
“No, no, no. Seb won’t be coming. He’s got better things to attend to, right, bro?” she asked, and she heard the betrayal of her own voice. Her voice was desperate enough, but she thanked the Angel Sebastian and Patrick mistaken it for another reason.
“Fine. Maybe the thoughts of her brother seeing her dance with some other guy is awkward for her.” Sebastian noted on mockery.
“Whatever. We’re going. Bye Seb!” he waved and closed the door behind them. She saw the pick up truck, instruments outside and 2 of the band members sat quietly, smiling at her.
“Heya Roma!” she nodded in return, returning their smile and sat beside Patrick on the backseat of the car. Vander, the drummer was driving. Collin, the bassist, and Daniel, the guitarist on the open compartment of the pick up. Beside Vander in the front seat is Henry, who plays the keyboard and finally, Patrick the vocalist and guitarist.
They arrived at Pandemonium’s parking lot 10 minutes later. The place was already crowded with people. The line was long, and slow. The surroundings bursting with hard, rock music. To her surprise, the band walked inside, pointing at the intruments and the bouncers were helping them get the instruments set up inside. It was pure luck that she’s been with the band so they got in earlier than the others they stumbled upon.
