"Hi, come in, Crybaby! I was just leaving. Have a good time!" The boys mother smiled, then closed the door.
Crybaby fixed her hair and smoothed her dress, then ran up the stairs. She was excited to see him again. Clutching on to her toy, she knocked on the door.
"Come in!" She heard him say. She fiddled with the doorknob, and pushed it open. He was sitting on the floor, playing with some Anime figure. "Hey. I got a new toy, wanna see?" Crybaby excitedly said, hiding the toy behind her back.
He turned to her. "Sure! What is it?"
She smiled evilly. "I'll show you later, but I have something to give you." Crybaby said, handing him the box of cookies she helped her mother make just for him. She even decorated them with happy faces.
"Oh. Thanks," he shrugged and put it away. "how about that toy?"
Crybaby's mood suddenly changed. Why didn't he eat it? She spent her precious time on those stupid cookies.
She shrugged it off and showed her Buzz Lightyear toy. She asked her mother specifically for that one, since it was the one he really wanted. He stared in delight.
"Woah! That's so cool! How did you get this?!" He said, examining the toy from his favorite movie. "I begged my mom for it. I knew you really liked it."
"Why me? You got it because I liked it? Why?" He said, confused.
Because I love you idiot. "I don't really know." She smiled evilly. He shrugged it off and started playing with the Buzz Lightyear toy and going back to his other toys. Crybaby didn't know what to do, so she started looking at all his teddy bears.
"Don't touch those. My dad got them for me." He said with evil eyes. She backed off and pouted. "Hey, let's go play some piano?" She suggested.
He didn't respond. He was making weird superhero noises while flopping the action figures everywhere around the room.
Oh. Okay. He didn't want to talk.
That's how it went for the next 3 hours. He played all board games in the whole house, but every time she tried talking and bonding with him, he seemed too distant.
Crybaby just kept chasing him around, she felt like some kind of mindless robot that he used to keep himself company. Why was he the one she fell for?
She just stared at him as he kept himself busy.
I guess I'm just a play date to you.
