Where

Where are all the birds?
Perhaps they have migrated
The world feels silent
But still so sound

Where are all the trees?
Perhaps they've gone afar
For as I lie here
Darkness surrounds me

Where are all the rivers?
Perhaps they have run away
The ground beneath me shakes
Loud and oh so angry

Where are all the children?
Perhaps they've moved elsewhere
I sit here, in the black void
Alone

Where are all the children?
For when I was here
yesterday
There were no flames
