Chapter Two- Calling

I ran until the sun started to peak over the mountains and I started to take control over my wolf and she slowed to a walk and I let her walk under my balcony and she let go and I shifted back to my human form. The kitchen lights were off, but I knew  everyone was awake. I bent my legs and jumped, easily reaching my second story balcony and landing gracefully and quietly on my feet. I opened my door and stepped into my room. Walking over to my drawers I grabbed my workout clothes, slid them on, and walked out of my bedroom. As I walked out so did my twin sister, Anastasia.
"Morning Princess." My low voice called out and I smiled at her and she linked her arm through mine as we walked towards the kitchen together.
"Good morning Princess!" Her voice like warm honey. She smiled back and a low, playful, growl sounded in my throat. I've never liked being called princess; unlike Anastasia. Anastasia also had on workout clothes but hers were slightly different than mine. Hers were pink shorts and a matching pink sports bra with a crown embellished over her heart. Mine were all black with no embellishments, and mine went up close around my neck and the sleeves went to my elbows, hiding my scar.
"Did you sleep well?" She asked as we both moved around the kitchen grabbing our various ingredients for our morning smoothies. As usual she had a strawberry banana with oats and honey, and I had a mango smoothie with spinach and protein powders. My sister and I varied in almost every aspect of life except the way we look.
"Good enough, I didn't get to sleep until about 12 so the early morning wake up was rough. I was woken up even earlier than my alarm this morning." I said mentally nudging my wolf so she knew I was talking about her. Hey, not my fault you are a lazy bum. We have work to do today, and very good news. She spoke back to me in a yawn. "How did you sleep, little sister?" She didn't speak immediately seeing as we both started the blenders at the same time. Once the noise stopped she spoke, "Wonderfully! Though I also had a late night last night. Mrs. Benedict has been riding me so hard lately about those dumb literature tests. I can't help it that those dusty old books are boring and I can't read them and not fall asleep!" We both laughed. I quit "princess lessons" a few months ago, much to our mother's disapproval. But it was cutting into fighting lessons with Dad.
"Ironically, the literature was my favorite part. What are you reading now? Maybe I can help." As I spoke, Ana's eyes lit up.
"Pride and Prejudice, please tell you've read it." She pleaded.
"Ofcourse I have. It's a classic. Not my favorite though, pretty simple. We can go over it tonight. Have a little book club." I smiled and Ana practically jumped over the island in the kitchen and gathered me in her arms.
"Oh thank you, thank you, thank you! You are the best twin a girl can have!"
"And don't you forget it. But I've got to go. The girls are already at the field waiting on me. See you later, Princess." I called the last part as I jogged out the door, letting my blood pump and I made it to the field to work out for hours with my girls.
Isabelle, Britney, Samantha, and Tasha waited for me at the dirt covered old football field already stretching out and rolling their heads around their shoulders. They have been my very best friends since we were little pups, when I decided to become the first female Alpha I gathered them to form the best and strongest group of girls of all the werewolves in all the packs. Even stronger than all the males in our own pack. Isabelle, Britney, Samantha, and Tasha  are all warriors, like me. Each with a special trait though.
Isabelle-gun specialist. Though most vampires aren't going to let you shot them in the heart, Isabelle's  aim is so perfect, she's done it multiple times.
Britney- she has a whip. A long leather whip that she can even use in wolf form. Don't ask me how, but the girl can wrap that thing around a vamps neck, yank it back to her and rip their head off in 3 seconds.
Samantha-archery. She can land a silver pointed arrow through your big toe a football field away.
Tasha- tracker. Best in the world, she can track a scent through rivers, mountains, and mud.
All are trained in their individual talents, but also in fighting as wolves. But for me, I'm good with knives. I can throw a knife and get a vamp in the heart over a football field away. Our wolves are some of the largest female wolves in the pack. Muscles roll under our fur, and though we are big. We are fast.

We worked out for two hours; fighting, running, conditioning, and individual strengths. It would have lasted longer but my father, Alpha Angus McKinney, whistled and we all stopped immediately and bowed out heads before our Alpha.
"At ease girls, Alasia, I need to speak with ye." He spoke and all the girls lifted their heads and sat on the asses.
Oooh, someone is in trouble! Isabelle said through her mind link and the rest erupted into laughter. I even chuckled before growling.
Hold on, Daddy, let me go shift and put my clothes on. I spoke to my Daddy but he was too busy laughing with the girls. Asking about their parents as I disappeared behind a tree and put my clothes on. When I walked from behind the tree the girls had also shifted and changed. My dad had walked away and the girls had huge smiles spread across their faces.
"What are you smiling at?" I asked in a strong but playful voice.
"Your dad will tell you. It's big news, now hurry on." Samantha, the always serious one, ushered me forward. Even she had a smile on her face.
"Daddy, hold up!" I yelled and sprinted towards him, curious as to what this news was. I ran up and jumped on his back barely even making me wobble, but for me it was like slamming into a concrete wall. "You know, you should be getting soft in your old age but that hurts more now than when I was six." We both laughed as I jumped down.
"Alaisia, we need to talk." He was very suddenly serious. I thought this was good news? He is just worried about you Alasia.
"Sure, Dad. Have I done something wrong?" I asked.
"Of course not, wee Alasia, there has been a request for ye and ye're girls." He said sternly.
"Really? Who from?" I tried to keep my voice level with his but my wolf and I were jumping for joy inside.
"The King." My heart stopped. No. Fucking. Way.
"The King as in King Alexander? In Russia." He has to be joking with us.
"The one and only." There was no containing it now. I jumped up.
"Hell yeah! The King, King Alexander, what's me and my team as protection detail!" I smiled and jumped, doing a little victory dance. Enjoying it only briefly when a flashback of last summer jammed into my mind. My last mission..I was protecting Ferrah Blanco on vacation for her mate, alpha of a very strong pack in America. We were at the mall while she shopped when the vampires attacked. They took Ferrah, but they didn't get out of the store before I was on them. I got Ferrah away and handed her to Isabelle and told them to get her safe, I was going to get the vamp. And we danced. I killed him, and almost got myself killed in the process. Right as the vamp went down he yanked the knife out of his heart and slammed it into mine. Or almost..he barely missed and when we fell he yanked it to the right. He broke ribs and my collarbone. He even broke my sternum.
"Alasia? Are you listening?" My father spoke to me, my hand wandered up and settled on my chest.
"Don't worry Dad, what happened last time won't ever happen again. I'll be careful. I know better." I grabbed his arm and stopped our walking.
"I just don't know what I would do if something happened to ye. Ye 're me wee warrior princess.." He spoke.
"I love you daddy." I hugged him and he squeezed me close.
"You don't have to go, ye know? Ye can say no. Ye' have proven yerself over and over again." He spoke.
"No I haven't. After last time..I have so much left to show. Now when do we leave?" I stepped away and continued to walk. We made our way to our front door.
"In a few hours. No way I can change yer mind?"
"Not a chance." I smiled and winked at him. "I'm going to make you proud, Alpha. I'm going to go pack!" I smiled and ran into the door and up the stairs to my room.
