Jake soon had left Winter in her lonely, snowy cabin. Winter hated being apart from her lover, but he couldn't stay. She didn't know why or what for, but she knew she wouldn't find out soon. She woefully sat on her bed and looked down at her petite feet. Time had passed so slowly, and the days seemed long and sad. Later on in the month, Winter decided to go outside and hope to find Jake. It was a possibility that Jake was close. The girl with flowing white hair set out and began to walk. She walked for maybe an hour before seeing smoke and fire start to arise past some tall trees. "J-Jake...?" She whispered and began to rush closer to the fire.
She came near and burning ashes were falling on the ground and on her pale skin. She winced at the small chunks of flames that fell against her. Soon she heard Jake's string voice yell, "Enough!" but that was all it said. She ran and saw what seemed like shadows disappear and Jake, on fire, collapse.
Jake's flames slowly died out and he looked up at Winter with his eyes melting from orange to chocolate brown. "Winter..." He called out softly and weakly. Winter took a step closer, but the male stopped her. "Don't get too close... The heat will hurt you..." He looked up at her and smiled softly. "You look so beautiful..." He said as his eyes slowly closed.
Winter stood there, waiting for the fire to die down before approaching the resting Jake. "Oh, Jake..." The girl whispered as she reached out to stroke his face, but pulled back. His body temperature was still way too hot for Winter to handle. She sighed and sat there until Jake sluggishly awoke.
"Hey, Winter..." He smiled gently at her, her being the only happiness he had now. He groaned a little as he sat up and lightly rubbed his head. "How much did you see...?"
