Winter trembled lightly in Jake's strong arms. She didn't want anymore tears to fall. She knew that she was weak and fragile, but she didn't want to appear that way even though it was already obvious to Jake.
"I won't summon fire around you again, ok?" Jake looked into her worry-filled eyes. She nodded slowly.
"O-ok...." The girl put her face in his chest.
Jake put a finger under her chin and raised it to where she was looking at him. He smiled gently then kissed her warmly. Winter melted into his embrace as her cold lips were brushed by his warm ones. Jake pulled back for a moment.
"You're beautiful." He whispered as he tucked some of her white hair behind her ear.
Winter blushed deeply as a small smirk grew on Jake's face.
"You're so cute when you blush." He mumbled, and he kissed her again, but a bit deeper this time. Winter loved all this affection that she was receiving. She had never felt such love before. She had been alone for almost as long as she could remember, and knowing there was someone who cared about her was truly a beautiful idea. The ice girl soaked it all in as she kissed him back gently.
Jake knew he couldn't stay much longer. He was destined to leave her again and again. He didn't want her to get hurt, and maybe, just maybe, that was an excuse to keep his secret from the innocent girl, but maybe it wasn't. Maybe he truly did care. He didn't think he would ever truly care and love anyone ever, but maybe that had changed. He eased off the thought as he tangled his warm fingers in her soft, white hair. The pure bliss of the moment was care-free and full of love. They exchanged a long and magical minute, not saying a word, but just held each other in a meaningful embrace. Winter didn't want Jake to leave, and Jake didn't want to leave, but neither wish would be fulfilled.
