Lucinda's Hard Work

The next day

I walked through the school gates feeling a little.... strange. Why? that I do not know. "Hey Cadenza how ya doing?" I saw Travis wave his hand at me. "Oh hi Travis, I'm fine" I gave him my usual fake smile. "Oh Cadenza what's wrong?" "what do you mean? I'm fine" I try to act casual. "You just gave me your fake smile, so what's really going on". He stares at me, "I'm just stressed with all my homework I have to do, you know skipping school for a whole week doesn't mean I don't have any homework".

"Sure" Travis continues to walk ahead of me entering the school building. "CADENZA!!!!!!" and as always Lucinda is as noisy as ever. "CADENZA GUESS WHAT... GUESS, GUESS, GUESS" "okay slow down, what happened", Lucinda was grabbing and pulling on my arm. "I WAS JUST ASKED OUT BY THE SECOND MOST POPULAR GUY IN SCHOOL TO GO TO THE BALL!!!!" Lucinda just kept screaming into my ear.

"Whoa, whoa, whoa, so let me get this straight. You were asked out by James Gallegan to go to the school ball" apart of me knew that James had a thing for Lucinda but he never talked to her. "Lucinda, you said yes right" I turned to face her, "ARE YOU CRAZY, OF COURSE I SAID YES... WHO WOULDN'T" she just kept yelling in my ear. Then I gave her the look, "well everyone apart from you would want to go out with him".

"Also Casandra, you're coming to the Ball with someone as well" Lucinda just never gives up, I sighed. "Lucinda you know I don't like Balls and wearing formal stuff" I move away from Lucinda quickly heading inside. "CADENZA COME ON" Lucinda's voice started fading away into the crowd of teenage students. I'm most definitely not going to that God damn ball. As I rush past the crowd of more teenage kids I ended up walking into the first most popular guy in the school.

"Whoa there, are you okay" I looked up and saw him, honestly I don't really see why all the girls fan all over him. "Wait do I know you" he tries to make a conversation with me but I wasn't interested in talking with him. "Hey where are you going, why don't you stay and talk with me... I am the most popular guy in school after all".

He grabbed my arm trying to pull me closer, he's really annoying. "I'm sorry but your so-called title, the most popular guy in school doesn't impress me one bit. You think you can just walk up to anyone and they will happily stop what they are doing to talk to you, well your wrong. Also to me, you're just like any another ordinary boy in school, your nothing special to me. I suggest you let go of my armor you'll regret it", Chase then let go of my arm with a shocked expression, after that, I just walked off as if I didn't threaten someone.

LUCINDA'S P.O.V

Gee, why does that girl have to be too complicated and frustrating. I know, I'll get one of the guys to ask her out. But what if she rejects them.... who is someone she really likes. TRAVIS...or maybe Vylad? anyone of them is good enough. At that moment I started running through the hallways. Mrs. Harris stops running in the halls if you want to run, run outside. Mrs. Claive stopped me for a few seconds but as soon as she was out of sight I started running again.

Seriously were are those boys when you need them. At that moment I saw Travis walking right outside the Library holding a book. "Travis!!" just then Travis stopped and saw me. "Oh hey Lucinda what are you doing down here, you hardly come this far in the school". I realized that I was breathing heavily"Just... let me... catch my breath" as soon as I could breathe I said, "Travis you like Cadenza right".

At that moment Travis's face turned red "wha... What are you talking about I don't like her like that" Travis slammed his book shut and looked down? "Um, Travis I didn't say if you liked her as in love you just brought that up yourself" even though I did mean as the love I just want him to know I know he likes her. Travis's face turned an even brighter red, I didn't even think that was possible. "Why did you even ask?" Travis looked a little mad but happy at the same time.

"I asked because I wanted you to ask her out to the ball" I waited for his reply, "why should I ask her out" He looked away trying not to show his face. "Oh well I thought you liked her at least a little bit, but since you don't I guess I'll just go find Vylad to ask her" I turned to walk away but in the corner of my eye I saw him flinch. Oh well, I guess I really do have to ask Vylad.

Travis's p.o.v

I saw Lucinda run through the hall then turn left, apart of me really hated her for saying she would go ask Vylad since she already knew I like Cadenza... but how am I supposed to ask her to the ball, she probably likes someone else. No, stop it, Travis, if you want to know how she feels I should ask her to the ball. Well, it's settled, but where is she?

LUCINDA'S P.O.V

So I started running through the same hallway again, "SERIOUSLY HOW HARD IS IT JUST TO FIND SOMEONE!!!" I pulled on my hair. "Um excuse me but are you looking for someone" a guys voice started talking to me, I turned around. It's Vylad, "I FINALLY FOUND YOU" I yelled at Vylad and he seemed very confused.

VYLAD'S P.O.V

"I FINALLY FOUND YOU" Lucinda seemed very tired and kind of scary, she then grabbed my collar and dragged me to a place where there were fewer people. "Lucinda what are you doing?" she was trying to catch her breath. "You.... like... Cadenza..... don't you" just then I think my heart stopped for a second. "Umm? probably, maybe, I don't really know" I look down.

"WHAT DO YOU MEAN YOU DON'T KNOW... IV'E BEEN RUNNING AROUND EVERYWHERE... OUTSIDE, AROUND THE SCHOOL, AROUND EVERY CORNER THREW EVERY HALLWAY JUST TO ASK YOU THIS QUESTION AND YOUR SAYING I DON'T KNOW!!! SERIOUSLY... THAT'S IT IM GOING TO ASK SOMEONE ELSE TO ASK HER TO THE BALL" for some unknown reason I felt stiff, just when Lucinda was about to leave I grabbed her arm and pushed her against the wall.

"Don't you dare go and tell another guy to ask Casandra out to the ball...." for some reason I was seriously pissed. "Why you don't know if you like her... unlike you Travis knows he likes her so he's going to ask her" she tried to act strong but she was scared.

"Why? well, I guess it's because I don't want other guys to touch her got it!".

LUCINDA'S P.O.V

I never knew Vylad could be so scary I guess you really can't judge a book by its cover.... after he scared me he left with his hands clenched... I guess he does like her. Oh well if both of them ask her out I want to see which one she will say yes to, heh.
