Jack's POV:
America. Land of the brave home of the free. Or however that saying goes. This is the first time I have ever bin in this country and its already off to a rocky start. I originally live in Ireland, born and raised on Cabbage and potatoes. My parents got a letter in the mail saying I was eligible to participate in an exchange student program to study abroad. They thought it would be a great opportunity for me to travel and study more on my passion. I love making videogames and have won a few awards in contests. America has some companies that make amazing games. Usually they are in the citys, my parents wanted my to check out some of the internships that may be available or maybe even some colleges in the area that offer a program so they sent me to a school in the outskirts of New York so I would be close. And since my uncle Nick lived in America and was moving near the city anyways they said it was ment to be to I was going no matter what. My first time getting on a plane was not so bad, I mean I didnt die so thats a plus, and when I got to the airport my uncle was there waiting for me. "Jack! My boy! Nice to see you bud. Its bin a while how are you?" He asked as he embraced me for a hug. "Im fine uncle, but im tired after that ride." I replied. "That my friend is jet lag. It'll pass by the time school starts. And what happend to you? I havent seen you in 2 years, but I dont remember you having green hair on the top of your head." He said at he ruffled my hair. "Or these glasses. Or even peirced ears!" He sounded shocked. "What happened to the old Jackyboy?" He asked. "uh he turned 18." I just said bluntly. "I see. Well lets get going its still early. Lets grab a bite to eat and head home." He grabbed one of my bags and I held the other and we were off.
After grabbing a quick bite we headed to the community that contained our new home. "Oh look we made it right on time. We are right behind the moving trucks. I told them i was going to be a bit late cause i was stopping by the airport to get you, but I guess we made it." He said. As we got closer I finally saw the house. It was 2 stories and a decent size. It had an older vibe to it then some of the other houses. There were some dead plants in the front yard. I guess a lady that loved to garden used to live there.
"So you just picked me up early to help you unpack." I said. He rolled into the driveway and parked the car. "Yup!" He said, patted me on the back, and quickly got out of the jeep before I could protest. As i got out I looked down to grab my bag and put it over my shoulder. As i looked up I made eye contact with a girl a few yards away. My heart skipped a little. I was sure if it was because she startled me or if it was because she was cute. She had brown eyes and Electric Blue hair that went to white at the ends. She looked looked around my age. I was going to try to say hi, but she bolted into the house and I never go the word out. I got really confused. Did I scare her? I just grabbed by other bag from the back seat and went inside the house.
"Hey uncle, do you know anything about our neighbors?" I asked. "ER-Not. Ugh-A thing-Ahh!" He struggled to say as he helped one of the moving men carry a couch in. "Few!" He said wipeing wipeing his forehead. "Why? Curious to meet knew friends already?" He asked. "Not really. I just think I scared one of our neighbors kids." I said. "Now how the heck did you do that? You havent bin here more then 5 mins." He questioned. "I dont know! I just looked at her." I said. "Dont worry about it. Set your stuff in your room upstairs and come back down to help with the rest of the unloading. Oh by the way feel free to dec-out yor room how you want." He said with a smirk. "But its not really mine. Its not like im living here forever." I protested. "Well for now it is. Its not like im gonna get married and have a family in this house anytime in the next few years. The room is yours. Now hurry up so you can come help."
I made my way up the stairs and found my room 2 doors down. When I walked in I already felt at home, despite the fact of now furniture being in the room. The room just gave off that homey feeling and any worry about comeing here melted away. For a moment I was truly feeling that everything would work out. It felt nice. I put my bags down and went to go help my uncle with the rest of the stuff.---------------4 hours later---------------------
"I. Am. So. Sorry." My uncle said as we flopped on the couch after all the work of unloading the moving truck. "Its ok. Its not like I need a bed to survive." I said. "Are you kidding I am the worst. I made sure to buy you your desk, new lamps, side table, but no bed for your room! I am a total idiot. You know what? You can have my room until we go buy you a new bed. Ok? Ill take the couch." He said apologetically. "No,no,no its fine. Really! I can take the couch you go to your room." I said. "Really?" "Yes! Now go wash up. You looke like crap after all that work." I joked. He smile and went to his room. I still went to my room and cleaned up to get ready for bed. Once I came back downstairs and got on the couch I instantly remembered what couches do to people. "Oh crap. My back is really going to hurt after sleeping on this."
