Three posts mark where
Love grows for them there.
Pairs bonding early on
Destined for one to be gone.
Head on shoulder,
Thoughts in wonder.
Eyes full of compassion,
Heart hardy and heavy with distraction.
Up and up, to pay their tribute,
Remembrance being their key attribute.
Passing over those who had come before,
Without grave and open, but never poor.
One cries,
The other tries.
Returning to the hearth,
The two regain joy from the warm earth.
A gift is given,
Handmade as tradition.
Tooth from the hunted,
Exactly what was wanted.
One looks at the stars,
The other into their eyes like open doors.
Only a temporary stare,
One of the last they would share.
