For the first time (don't tell anyone I'm saying this), I wanted to be an Aphrodite child. Not because of the beauty blessing or "good fashion senses", just because of the charmspeak. Convincing others to do anything you want no matter how twisted it is just by the power of your words does seem like a cool thing to have at times. Especially in the situation that I'm in. If I had charmspeak I could simply tell Bridger to stop fighting me, and it'd most likely it'd work. But unfortunately, I'd have to find a way to turn him back to normal without any powers.

My breathing was heavy, "Bridger. Anything that she's telling you in your head, it's not true." I pleaded, but he pushed his sword closer towards my neck.

"Fight back. Don't listen to her." I gasped for air. He hesitated, and lost his grip for just a second. I knocked his sword away and he scrambled after it.

His head shot back towards me, but the darkness in his eyes had started to clear and become the light blue they had been before.

I leaned against the ruined bed, closing my eyes in relief. Sweat trickled down my back and blood stained my shirt and covered my arms from several cuts.

"What happened?" Bridger asked, clearly not remembering what had been going on only moments before. He squatted down beside me, "You're cut." He noticed.

"I'm alright. I'll explain everything later-"

Something crashed outside the room.

"-but for now," I continued, "we've got to go help the others."

We raced out to see what was going on. A chair flew across the room and I heard someone yell in pain. Rew was kicking someone who was lying unconsciously on the ground. I looked over my shoulder and saw Brooks throw his hands into the air, yelling something I couldn't make out. In the kitchen, water shot to the ceiling and began to flood the RV room by room.

I heard a cry erupt and Haiden removed her knife from the monster's back. The creature disintegrated immediety and as it did the whole RV exploded. Or at least it felt like it did. I slammed into a rough surface, drenched head to toe in the freezing cold water. The impact of the road made me cry out. I looked up at the sky trying to regain my regular breathing pattern.

Turning my head, my vision blurred. I tried my best to examine my surrounding. My friends were sprawled out around the vehicle damaged beyond repair.

The cold stung my nose and I felt as if I couldn't move. I heard some shuffling from the others not too far away. At least the emposai were gone, but now we didn't have transportation once again and who knew if they were even bringing us to Georgia. We could be even further away.

A figure hovered over me, but it was too dark to see them clearly, "Come on. We found something." I could make out the outline of a hand beside me, which I accepted. We walked into the woods, my old shoes crunching against the frosty grass.

They propped open a door hidden in the ground and told me to go inside. I climbed down a sturdy ladder into a pitch black room. As I neared the bottom, I lost my balance and fell to the floor. Exhaustion filled my body. I grabbed the nearest object to help me get back to my feet.

My hands moved against the wall, searching for a switch. When the familiar shape grazed my hand I flicked it up. The lights shot on, revealing a storm cellar. I noticed cans of food lined up on shelves against the wall opposite of me as well as tons of water. Sleeping bags covered the floor, but they looked unused.

I shuffled over to the water, nearly breaking down a shelf. After drinking as much as I could, I laid down. My eyes shut until I heard very faint talking. In the corner was a door I hadn't spotted before. I stood up, allowing my curiosity to take over.
