-Jeremy's P.O.V-
I knew I had to walk home alone.
Again.
A huge Homer drove by us and picked Marka up for a psyched party happening around the corner. She looked down at me as she hopped in and asked if I wanted to tag along.
I could see the faces of disproval from all of her other friends, so I told her to just go ahead.
"you sure baby brother?"
"Yes, I'm sure. Go have fun, I'll just play video games for the rest of the afternoon"
Then, poof the Homer drove off right before my eyes could blink.
Besides, her friends were definitely on some serious shit. Packed with drugs such as cocaine, cannabis, ecstasy, and even crystal meth.
Her boyfriend's dad was a drug smuggler, bringing all kinds of stuff from all the way down from Cuba, and the pits of New York.
So if the party gets busted, I sure as hell wouldn't want to be part of that.
I shoved my hands into my pockets, strolling down the sidewalk until I see a glimpse of a figure walking on the opposite side of the street. I turn my head to get a better view of the person, just to come to the conclusion that it was just Melody's little sidekick; Delilah.
At first, I was just going to quickly walk back and wait until she walks off in a safe distance until I remembered one thing:
I still need a partner.
Shit.
I quickly scrambled across the street up behind Delilah-who seemed to be oblivious that I was behind her.
As I reach out to her and touch her shoulder, she stopped dead in her tracks and straighten her head forwards.
I quickly stumbled slightly, regaining my balance to stop myself from bumping into her.
Keeping her back to face me she sighs. "Jeremy... what the fuck do you want?"
I laughed nervously, raising my arm to scratch the back of my head.
"I need a partner for Mrs. Hazinski's class."
"well, you must be pretty desperate to come to me, knowing that I could kick you in your jewels again."
I cup my hands over my zipper, as I shiver from that horrible memory
"And for that, I beg you for mercy"
"Very well, since your not a complete asshat I suppose."
I could feel my excitement building up. "Really?! you're agreeing to be my partner?!"
Delilah raised an eyebrow and scowls.
"Fuck no, Me working with you? not happening."
"Come on, your artwork is magnificent. It would be a total honor to work with you."
She makes a short and sharp sigh, pulling out her small flip phone from her back pocket as her left eye begins to twitch.
I could tell she was annoyed.
She opens it up and stares at it for a few a moment, and closes it.
"Look, kissing my ass won't get you anywhere." She shoves the phone back into her pocket.
"Besides, I already have a partner and I was supposed to be at her house by now. You're making me late"
My hope suddenly crashes, returning into a panic. "Please don't tell me its Melody"
She shakes her head. "Nah, I'm working with Hanna. Melody told me that she was going to play it solo this time"
I breath out in relief. Thank god.
"Do you have her phone number?"
Delilah folds her arms, raising an eyebrow. "Yeah, why?"
I tug onto my shirt, swallowing nervously. "Can you give it to me?"
"Why don't you just ask her yourself?"
"Because she might kill me, I just really need a partner. Please, Delilah, help me out here."
She looks down at the pavement of the sidewalk thinking, then looks back at me.
"Come on! Help another Doctor Who fan out"
I know that Delilah was into the doctor who stuff, so it was another attempt to get her to at least think I'm not entirely a dick and to get her to trust me. Although I never watched the show.
She looks up at me skeptically and scoffs. "pfft, you? Watch Doctor Who? No way."
"It's true! I absolutely love the show"
She gives me a little smirk and places her hands on her hips. "Fine, If you can name all the doctors in the show I'll give you Melody's phone number. There is twelve of them."
My eyes widen.
Tweleve?
I rub the back of my neck, looking down at my feet silently.
"I'm waiting, " She said. "Come on, If you watch Doctor Who you gotta know at least one of them."
I stammer a bit and finally gave her my answer. "Uhhh... Doctor...Who?"
That did it, She started laughing.
"Doctor who?! Is that all you came up with?!" She kneeled down wrapping her arm over her stomach laughing her ass off.
I look to the side blushing lightly. Getting laughed at by someone who's almost a foot shorter than me was embarrassing as hell.
"I-Its not funny! quit laughing people are looking at us!"
Her laughter finally died down, and she stood back up with her cheeks flushed. She coughed a bit running her wrist over her eyes.
"That cracked me up."
I crossed my arms over my chest. "pfft, The doctor already did its magic."
"what the hell? What doctor are you talking about? are you a doctor?" She asked
"Do I look like a fucking doctor?"
"From my HMO? Absolutely."
I grinned. She's pretty funny.
"Here. Since you made me laugh I'll give you her phone number."
I smiled and raised a fist in the air. "YEAH! Thank you, Delilah!"
"Yeah yeah... Oh and Jeremy one more thing."
"Yeah? What is it?"
She takes off her nerdy like glasses and gives me a terrifying death glare. "You did not get this number from me. Understood?"
