Episode/Chapter 3 - The Bad

"I swear something's wrong... I haven't seen Bart in days..." Alacrity crossed her arms as she stood in the mission briefing room, "he hasn't been answering my calls and the only way he contacts me is through text."

"What does he usually say?" Night Owl asked.

"He just keeps saying stuff like 'I'm sorry' or 'I'll explain everything later'... But that's it. It's been like this for the last few days."

Blue Beetle sighed, "I tried to find him. But he's just running from us... Literally."

"Is there anything we can do about it? Please tell me there's a way to get him back." Alacrity pleaded with Blue Beetle.

He only swallowed hard and turned to look at Supergirl standing next to him. She sighed and shook her head.

"Listen, Chris. He could be gone forever for all we know." Jet grabbed her shoulders and turned her around to look at him, "I'm sorry."

"Don't say that! You don't know that!" Alacrity slapped his arms away.

"HEY!!!"

Everyone was silent as they all turned to one of the Zeta Tube entrances. There was smoke surrounding it, and just as everyone was ready to attack whoever this person was, a familiar figure walked in.

"Will you all just SHUT UP?!" Red Hood yelled loudly, making everyone deadly silent.

"Why's he here?" Black Bat asked, gesturing to her past teammate.

"Father left me to babysit him..." Robin answered as he followed Red Hood through the smoke and up to the crowd.

"Uh, hello, I'm the one who was left to babysit you, Moron..." Red Hood shook his head, "so where is it?"

"Here." Blue Beetle pulled up the cave computer that contained the list of villains, "this is the list we got from Klarion. We've already confirmed who some of these people are."

"Leonard Snart, Captain Cold. Caitlin Snow, Killer Frost. This is basically all we know so far. We still don't exactly know who the rest of them are." Supergirl explained.

"So we decided that with the people we have here," Jet spoke up, "we track down these people and talk to them. See what their connections are with the two mysterious figures we saw in the video. They must have some connection with Impulse, though. We can only hope."

"Good. So we've got four targets for now." Blue Beetle eliminated some names from the list so there were only four names on the list, "we'll investigate Deborah Morgna, Peter Merkel Jr., Richard Swift, and Hartley Rathaway."

"Now. We'll go in squads of two." Jet explained, "I'll go with Night Owl."

"Obviously..." Alacrity smirked.

Jet only rolled his eyes before continuing, "We'll go after Morgna. Blue Beetle and Supergirl, take Merkel. Alacrity and Black Bat, go after Richard Swift. Red Hood and Robin take Ra--"

"NO WAY! I'M NOT GOING WITH THE DEMON SPAWN!" Red Hood protested.

"Shut up and deal with it!" Jet snapped.

"No way!" Robin added, "I refuse to work with Todd!"

"Boys, just suck it up! He's your babysitter anyways, isn't he?" Black Bat could feel her blood boiling. Then again, she didn't blame Robin for not wanting to be with Red Hood. She knew he was a real pain in the butt.

"Whatever." Jet shook his head. Night Owl could already see the veins in his neck from being so angry, "I'll go with Robin, Night Owl will go with Alacrity, and Black Bat will go with Red Hood. We'll go for Morgna, Night Owl and Alacrity will go for Richard Swift, and Red Hood and Black Bat will take Rathaway. No more changes!"
