Nate strummed the guitar his father had crafted for him for his 16th birthday. It was absolutely exquisite and he played it whenever he had the chance. His magnificent musical abilities had given him the chance to be the king's private musician which he gladly took, but it wasn't all it was cracked up to be. The king was very demanding and frankly an asshole. He would demand Nate play a certain song then yell at him to write a new song specifically about something random. The worst was when he demanded it on the spot.
Nate was considering leaving but with this crazy king that would probably get him executed for some strange reason. But, he was allowed to take holidays off. And because of how much the king loved himself there were a lot.
Right now, Nathan was coming up with a new song about sausages for the king. He was getting really tired of this weird stuff so he decided to write about wolves instead. Even if it got him killed. That would be better than writing songs about sausages. Wolves were beautiful, strong creatures that Nathan admired. He would give almost anything to even touch a wolf.
Suddenly, there was a loud knock on his door.
"The king requests your presence." A servant said. This servant was one he knew quite well, his name was Matthew. They had grown to be good friends with pretty much the same opinions on the king. But suddenly, Nate didn't know what came over him. He slung his guitar over his shoulder and grabbed his bag of trinkets that kept him company along with his book.
"Bye, Matt, I wish you fare well." He said right before jumping out the window and sliding down the ivy.
He quickly started to run away from the castle for he knew that eventually guards would come after him. Now that he thinks about it, he's a wanted man now. The only place he would be truly safe his home village. So that's where he was headed even though it was a rather long trip.
