Mark ripped a weird looking creature in half and dropped it on the ground.
"Pests." He spat, "let us continue." They kept walking. Nate was noticing how weird this forest really was. There were weird creatures everywhere and a red mist hung in the air.
"We should be leaving the forest soon enough." Mark said, "it's very lucky we haven't run into a-" Mark was interrupted when a they heard a loud roar.
"Curses." Mark said, pulling a sword out from seemingly nowhere, "Chica, I call upon thee to aid me in defeating this Anka!"  Mark's sword glowed and he charged in the direction the roar came from. Nate kept walking, but slower.
Mark jumped onto the giant, winged creature's back as it screeched. Suddenly, lightning struck the ground near the giant creature and another creature appeared. It was a glowing, white, fluffy dog with black eyes, red strips of fur along its back and had a gray aura. Mark stabbed the giant creature right in the middle of the back. Nate walked over to the area where he creature was slowly dying.
"Woah, what is that?!" Nate exclaimed.
"It's called an Anka! Stand back!" Mark yelled as he jumped off the back of the creature and ran next to Nate. Nate backed away, behind a tree, quickly. The demon dog launched itself at the creature, growling and ripped it's leg off. Then it's other leg, then it's wings. Then finally Chica ripped it's head off. The creature's feathers exploded off of its body and it started to disappeared.
Mark ran over to the demon dog.
"Good girl," Mark said, petting and scratching Chica playfully.
"Okay, you can return to the realm now." He said and Chica faded away, "It is safe now. We can continue." Nate and Cerberus came out from behind the trees, awestruck.
"That was amazing, Mark!" Nate said.
"Thank you." Mark replied, "Now, let us go." And they continued on.

"Well, thanks for escorting me through there, Mark. I probably would have died without your help." Nate said.
"It is no problem, friend. You are a good person. Fare well and take care of yourself." Mark replied before disappearing in a cloud of red.
"Likewise!" Nate called after him. He shrugged and continued on his journey. He couldn't help but feel uneasy about the red mist though...
