"So this is the bathroom." James opens a small door, revealing a small bathroom with white everything. "And that concludes our tour." He smiles, then has a surprised look on his face. I tilt my head questioningly. "I have to introduce you to everyone!"
"Okay.." he grabs my wrist and pulls me into the living room with loud children.
"This is Lea!" He points to a shy girl playing with a Barbie doll. "And-"
"Hey James!" A girl with glasses and long brown hair yells. She looks fairy similar to James. Maybe they are related?
"Hey Sarah! (I think that's what my sister said her name was, sorry if it's not, I can change it later if needed.)  This is (y/n)!" He beams happily.
"H-hi.." I say nervously.
"Hi (y/n)! I'm Sarah, James' sister!"
"Nice meet you Sarah."
"Right back at ya (n/n)!"
"(N/n)?"
"Yeah! It's your new nickname!" She says proudly. "Can we be friends?" She asks happily.
I nod my head in agreement, "Sure."

"Awesome!"
Later...

"So (y/n) have you ever played Animal Jam?"
"Does it seem like it?" I reply more coldly than intended.

"Well sorry, geez. Anyways it's an online virtual game where you can meet real life people and be their friend!"
"Cool."

"You should sign up! I can add you! My username is 7!"

"7? What kind of username is that?"
"A swag one." He replies not looking at me.

"Okay then." I sit on the edge of his bed. "So, where in the world did you get a laptop?"
"I paid for it with my own money." He replies, still staring at the screen.

"You know, I haven't actually had a conversation with someone in almost six years, so do you mind?"
"Right, sorry. I have a question. Have you ever had a boyfriend?"

"No, and I don't plan to. I'm too young in my opinion. Why are you asking?"
"I don't know. But let's get you registered!"

~A few years later~

We are now sixteen years old. I have lost hope of getting adopted. Who would want to adopt a teenager? Especially when they can get out in two years.

Me and James became best friends. We talked to other kids, but it was very rare. We would only talk to each other.

He made a YouTube channel eventually, and got really popular all of a sudden. Then he started talking to a girl named WisteriaMoon. I have to admit, I got kinda jealous.

"(Y/n)." Miss Matthews says, leaving me away from my thoughts.

"Yeah? Did Emma dump out the toy box again? I can-"
"No, there is a family that would like to see you."

This brings James' attention toward me and my caretaker. "W-What?"

"You are getting adopted (y/n)!"

"N-no I- I can't leave James- I-"

"(y/n)."

I sigh, and go over to hug him. "If they'll let me, I can get a YouTube account and talk to you through that. I'll miss you."

"I'll miss you too." He says frowning. "Promise me you will." I could feel a tear slide down my cheek as I exit the room.

"I promise."

I walk into the living room, and sure enough, there were a couple standing there, full of smiles. I manage a smile.

"Hello! You must be (y/n)." The woman says. She's quite beautiful, actually. Long brown hair and brown eyes. She's dressed in a cute white shirt and a black pencil skirt. She seems nice.

"Yeah. I am..." I reply looking down.

"I like her already!" The male, in a black business suit and has black hair.

"Yes yes yes! We'll take her!"
"Let me get the paperwork then!"

"You are going to love it at home (y/n)! We live in a huge mansion and you will absolutely love your new school!"

I try to look interested, but I don't think it was working. Miss Matthews walks back in with a bunch of papers. My "parents" take them and start filling the required questions out.

"Can I say one last goodbye to James?" I ask. "While they are filling out the paperwork?"

"Alright, go ahead."

As I'm walking, I hear my "mom" say, "Who's James?"

"Her soon-to-be boyfriend." I bet Miss Matthews replied. I could hear the smirk in her voice.
"I wish." I said in a low whisper.

"James?" I quietly enter the room. Sure enough, he is on his bed, playing on his laptop.

"(y/n)?"

"Yeah, I'm saying goodbye one more time."

I start crying.

"Hey hey it's okay. You are going to a better place. You get a life, a home, a school." He hugs me and I keep crying. I felt the presence of other people around.

I turn around and sure enough, my new parents and Miss Matthews are standing in the doorway. "Dad" is looking very angrily at James. I laugh slightly. We haven't even left the orphanage and he's already acting like a dad.

I hug James one last time before I exit. I hug Miss Matthews before leaving the front door.
