Chapter 1- Waking
Shane's POV
I open my eyes and see a white room.
Where am I? The hospital?
I sit up and feel pain shoot through my body. I look down. I have a cast on my arm and some wrap around my head.
Shane: Hello?
X: Shane?
XX: Shane!
Two people run in along with a doctor.
The first, a blonde haired girl, gives me a big hug.
The second, a boy with weird hair, gives me a hug and then leans in to kiss me. I'm shocked. Why would he kiss me?
Boy: I'm so glad you're ok!
Girl: Me too!
Dr: Could I speak to Shane alone.
It was obvious he saw my confusion. They both nodded and walked out. The doctor sighed and sat in the edge of the bed.
Dr: What's your name?
Shane: Shane Dawson.
Dr: How old are you?
Shane: 31.
Dr: Do you know those two people out there?
He gestured towards the hallway. I think for a minute. Who are those people? Why did the boy kiss me?
I'm not gay!
Shane: No. But they look familiar.
Dr: Ok. Do you remember your family?
Shane: Yeah. Of course.
I remember my mom, my two brothers, and my asshole of a dad.
Dr: Do you remember what you did for your job?
Shane: No. What did I do?
Dr: I think I'll let Joey explain that to you.
He gets up and brings them back in. The each take a chair on both sides of my bed. The boy takes my hand. I pull it away. He looks at me weirdly.
Dr: So it appears that Shane has amnesia.
Boy: What?!
Girl: What doesn't he remember?
Dr: Well lots of things. Well have to more test to be sure but I'm sure it's long term memory loss.
Long term. That means it could last forever. Will I ever remember everything?
Dr: And he doesn't remember either of you.
Girl: What?
Boy: Is that true?
Shane: Yeah.
Girl: Well I'm Lisa.
Lisa: I love you Shane! You're the best boyfriend ever!
Shane: I love you too Lisa And you're the best girlfriend ever.
We both lean in and share a soft, meaningful kiss. After she pulls away we hold each other. I look down and smile at my beautiful girlfriend. I really do love her.
Shane: I remember you!
Lisa: Really?
Shane: Yeah! Oh I'm so sorry Lisa.
I gave her a hug that she returned. Then I turned to the boy.
Boy: Well I'm Joey. Do you remember me?
Hmm...
Joey.
Shane: Nope. Sorry.
Joey: You don't remember me?
Shane: I remember Lisa. She's my girlfriend.
Lisa looked shocked and Joey looked hurt. What's going on?
