Chapter 5- Helpless

Joey's POV

*One week later*

Shane is being released from hospital today. And he has decide to live with Lisa again. He even broke up with me.

Shane: I'm sorry Joey. I love Lisa. Not you. So I'm breaking up with you.

Joey: W-what?

Shane: Please understand Joey.

Joey: But I love you Shane, I can't live without you!

Shane: We can still hang out as friends.

Joey: I'm begging you to not leave me. I need you Shane. Please.

Shane: I'm sorry Joey. This is for the best. And you'll find the right guy someday.

I already have. He sitting right in front of me. Breaking my heart. Leaving me for someone he used to love.

I've been completely depressed since that day. All I would do is lay in bed and cry. My friends would try to cheer me up.

They kept telling me that Shane would come around.

They kept telling me that he'd coming running home and give me a kiss and say that he remembers everything.

That he would say those words, 'I love you Joey', again to me.

They even tried to figure out ways to make him remember me again or even to win him back.

Sawyer: Ask him to give you a second chance.

Luke: Win him back. Do what you did the first time.

Meghan: Kiss him. Maybe it would spark some memory.

Tyler: Show him all of those old Shoey videos that you guys made.

But no matter what any of them say I know he won't be coming back. He said he loved Lisa. And I knew he meant it too.

I just need to get over him. And step one is getting rid of his things. Good thing he and Lisa are coming over to move his things out.

I remember the day he moved out of Lisa's apartment. I also remember the day he moved into mine.

I begin to cry again. Stop Joey. Forget Shane. Find a new boyfriend. And this time don't let him get into a car accident.

I begin to sob uncontrollably. I could've stopped all of this. I mean what if he really did forget our anniversary?

Oh who are you kidding? We've been together for 6 years. How could you forget your boyfriend after that many years?

I remember every year he would wake up and make me breakfast in bed. He would wake me up with a kiss. Then he would give me a present although we didn't need gifts. All we needed was each other.

I start to cry again when I hear a knock at my door. I quickly wash my face then run for the door. Shane and Lisa walk in carrying lots of boxes.

Shane walks straight past me and starts packing things into boxes. Lisa on the other hand pushes me into the kitchen. Her normal, friendly smile has been replaced with a scowl.

Lisa: Listen up Joey. Shane is MINE! So back off. Got it?

Joey: What?

What happened to nice Lisa? The one that was supportive of me, and Shane?

Lisa: You're such a dumbass Joey. I've always hated you. You took Shane. Now he's mine. How does it feel bitch?

And with that she left. I can't believe that she was playing me this whole time. And Shane too.

She lied to him so he would go back to her. But I can't tell Shane. He won't believe me. He only believes her.

I feel even more helpless than before. She has Shane and I can't do a damn thing about it.
