Chapter 6- Mom Drama

Shane's POV

Lisa: We're back home! Oh Shane, I love you. I missed you so much!

Shane: I love you too Lisa.

Once we get inside I lean down and give her a kiss. She throws her arms around my neck deepening the kiss.

I push her off. She looks panicked for a second.

Shane: I don't remember what we used to do but I don't want to take things too fast.

Lisa: Ok. Sorry.

Shane: It's fine.

I give her another quick kiss. We start bringing boxes up to our apartment. We unpack everything within a few hours.

Shane: Lisa I want some time alone.

Lisa: Why?

Shane: I just need time to think an try to remember everything.

Lisa: Alright. I'll be quiet.

I gave her a smile then went into our bedroom. I shut the door and laid down on the bed.

I close my eyes and try to gather everything I know about Joey.

I don't know why but he fascinates me. He seems different than most of my friends. But would he really lie to me?

He said we were dating. Lisa said it was true but I knew nothing more.

I didn't know how long we were together, how far we ever went in our relationship, or my true feelings about Joey.

But I'm not gay. So I couldn't have loved him.

Shane: I love you Jo-

I push that memory away. I don't love Joey. I don't. He might love me but I don't love him.

Lisa: Shane?

Lisa knocked on the door before poking her head in. I smile at her.

Lisa: You've been in here for a few hours. Are you ok?

Shane: Yeah but I-

I was cut off by my phone ringing. Lisa left the room and I answered the phone.

Shane: Hello?

Mom: Shane! I heard what happened! Are you ok?!

Shane: Yeah mom. I'm fine.

Mom: Can I come over to visit and make sure you're ok?

Shane: Sure. Come over to Lisa's apartment.

Mom: What are you doing there?

Shane: I live here. Lisa and I are dating.

Mom: But what about Joey and the p-

Shane: The what?

Mom: Nothing sweetie. I'll be over soon. Bye.

Shane: Bye.

I hang up and walk out to the livingroom. I sit down on the couch.

Is my mom keeping secrets from me? Wasn't everyone supposed to tell me everything so I regain my memories?

Sometime later my mom knocks on the door. Lisa answers but then scurries off to the office.

Mom: What happened to you and Joey?

Shane: I broke up with him. I barely know him and don't like him in that way.

Mom: But Shane, you two have been together for 6 years.

6 years.

What? Now I feel bad for what I did. After six years I left him. I'm a jerk.

Shane: But I don't remember anything about him! I couldn't be together with him! And I love Lisa.

Mom: You told Lisa you found out you were gay months before you broke up with her. Shane you love Joey.

Shane: I love Lisa.

Mom: I don't support the decision you're making Shane.

Shane: Well... then I don't care! I love Lisa and you can't change my mind!

My mom looked heartbroken. She got up and left without another word.

Lisa: Shane honey? Why would you do that?

I notice Lisa standing in the doorway. I walk over to her and kiss her.

Shane: Because I love you. I won't leave you. I promise.

Lisa: Thank you Shane.

And I know just the way to show everyone that I love Lisa and that we'll together forever.
