"shut up! shut up! shut up!"

"astrid, please." ella begged trying to calm me down.

"no!" i repeated so many times. i throat felt dry and it ached from calling out his name but i couldn't get him back.

"he's gone." she reminded me again.

"no, he's not! shut up!" i pushed her and she fell back. she was crying too hard to push back.

"he's not gone, he's not. he can't be."

"I'm sorry, astrid."

we were both on the ground at this point. just sitting in silence.

all i could hear was ella's sniffling but I didn't mind. we stayed there for a few minutes.

"He said he still loved me." i croaked out.

"And he wasn't lying."

"Then why did he leave me?"

"Because he loves you."

"That makes no sense."
