My Hero[Discontinued]

Chapter 6

  "I'll hide in the bathroom. Text me when they're here." I say as they get seated. I walk to the bathroom and hideout.  

-A few minutes go by and Adam texts you-

I walk out of the bathroom and slowly walk toward the table. Luckily, Adam, Alesa, Mason, Max, and the extra chair(mine)  were sitting on the side facing the door. I walk slowly and quietly, but not creepily, and finally reach the table. I look at Max and he's staring at me, but not trying to make it obvious. I hug Ross from behind and he screams quietly. Everyone turns their heads to looks at me, except Ross. "Hey Maggie." Ross says.

"How'd you know it was me?"

"Your bracelet. You always wear it."

(This is a bracelet with the colors from the Vietnam war. My step-grandfather was in it, actually. Anyway, back to the story.)

"Shit." I say as I sit down.

"Yeah, you wear it no matter if it looks good with the outfit, Maggie." Max says.

I can't believe he noticed! Wait, why am I acting like this? I never do. Am I falling for Max even more than before? I look at Adam and he glares at Max. I elbow him and he looks away. 

"Yeah, whys dos you always wears that?" John asks. 

"Well, I, I mean Adam and I had a grandfather who fought in the Vietnam war. These are just the colors of the war."

"Ohh." Everyone except Adam, Alesa and Max say. 

Michael looks at Max and says, "You already knew that?"

"Kind of."

-Time skips to after dinner- 

"I'll be right back, guys." I say, heading for the restroom.

(Max's POV)

"I'll be right back, guys." Maggie says, getting up. 

Damn, she's so perfect. God, what are you thinking, Max? She's your best friend's sister. Plus, she doesn't even like you that way. And Adam wouldn't even let me go out with her, he's too protective. 

"So guys. I was wondering.." Adam started. "Would it be okay if I invite Maggie to work in the office with us?" 

Everyone says yes, except for me. I simply nod  and my heart is racing, but it felt like I couldn't contain my happiness anymore. I pretend to look for my phone, since I haven't taken it out the entire time we were in the restaurant, and say, "Adam, can you unlock the car? I think I left my phone in there." He just passes me the keys. "Thanks." I walk outside and go around the building. I sit on the side walk and take a minute. I can't believe Maggie might work with us, if she says yes! I slap my face. Max, you're excited for your friend's sister to work with us, more excited than Adam. I love her, but who knows how she feels about me. I get up and walk back inside and see Maggie sitting back in her seat. 

"About time." Adam said, kind of jokingly.

"Yeah, sorry. It fell between the seats."

"Anyway.." Adam continued, "Maggie, I was thinking. would you like to work with the offices?"
